Ethan takes a shot at making things right again with Rebecca. But she disses him.

Edward ensures Rebecca and Nikolas don’t meet.

Edward and Rebecca take a ride, but soon have to deal with a cop for driving with a stolen license plate (the result of Michael’s practical joke-playing from before).

Edward and Rebecca must face the long arm of the law. They won’t do it alone. Nikolas comes panting in.

Ethan and Lucky thaw, because of Dominic making eyes at Lulu. Both brothers are determined to save Lulu from Dominic’s mob-related clutches.

The fallout from Claudia's car crash continues. We're not even sure who ran her off the road. But this week, we DO get a confession, as Michael cops to the crime. Sonny is seriously angry, but Carly doesn't believe it. And considering Carly was an eyewitness, she might be in a position to point the finger elsewhere.

But remember what the doctors said about Carly and stress? How she's supposed to avoid it, or her life -- and her unborn baby's life -- will be in danger? Well, how do you think finding out about Michael's confession will help her blood pressure? Yeah, that's right ... just like a sedative.

Meanwhile, suspicion also turns to Kristina. Sam certainly thinks it should, at least. And with doubt swirling around both of Sonny's teens, they decide to hit the road. Mafia children on the run! Jason and Sam team up to track the kids down (whoa ... do we smell reunion down the pike?) -- but in the meantime, Claudia's looking for revenge, so she sends Jerry Jacks after them. Hey, Claudia -- you put Michael in a coma, and now you're going after him again? Can't you call it even? And Alexis takes an extreme measure to protect her daughter.

All this, PLUS: Dominic gets to know the rest of Port Charles; Lucky and Ethan get an unexpected opportunity for bonding; and Rebecca and Edward find themselves tossed in jail! How in the world does THAT happen?!

Jason thanks Sam for helping him during the time he suffered from a brain malfunction.

Michael becomes quite taken with a beautiful young French woman taking in the Cancun sights.

Michael and Kristina come upon a lost PDA while roaming the Cancun beaches. They text-message to their loved ones back in PC.

The text-messages arrive in Spinelli’s possession for perusal. He holds off on notifying Carly and Sonny, Alexis.

Jax and Sonny exchange harsh words over who’s taking charge of taking care of those fugitive teens.

Dominic senses Olivia and Sonny have never closed the book on their love. This really bothers the young man.

Olivia tries to boss her son, Dante (Dominic), around, commanding him to cease and desist his undercover investigation.

Sonny rattles Dominic’s cage. What gems will tumble out? In particular, the mobster inquires as to why Dominic is being so wonderful to Johnny.

Dominic gives his Johnny angle to Sonny. It’s not about being so wonderful but sidling up to the enemy.

Alexis owns up to Sonny, in that she is taking the blame for the car accident when it was really Kristina.

Sonny feels badly for Claudia, who is sitting amidst the baby furniture she’d ordered before the miscarriage.

Sonny attempts to bolster Claudia, who is spiraling into depression.

Sonny arrives at what he wants to do with Claudia, continue to be her husband.

Olivia makes a big deal to Sonny (and especially Dominic) that they will never be a couple and that she has no interest in that.

Kate draws Olivia into a squabble about that Dante secret. Guess who’s also on the receiving end? Jax.

Jax lucks onto the fact that Dominic has a certain agenda.

Jax comes to Olivia with what he overheard her yelling at Kate about.

Olivia acts quickly to put a lid on Jax’s blabbing.

Dominic play-acts like he’s Johnny’s buddy.

Johnny pushes all of Dominic’s hot buttons, earning a sock to the jaw for mouthing off about sexing up Olivia.

Carly catches Olivia with some undercover guy named Ronnie. Carly leans in for a closer listen.

Molly asks Nikolas to do something about Alexis.

Rebecca must face Nikolas’s ire for her deceit.

Nikolas goes berserk in his own (Wyndemere) home, because of Rebecca.

Elizabeth visits Wyndemere, wandering in where Nikolas has gotten himself plastered and has devastated the premises. The air is just ripe for a bodice-ripper.

Elizabeth has a come to Jesus talk with Nikolas. Somehow this turns into a makeout session—that Lucky nearly witnesses.

Elizabeth goes home with Lucky, but still feels Nikolas all over her in a shiver of guilty pleasure.

Lucky seems immune to Rebecca’s pleas and charm. He believes she gets what she deserves.

Rebecca outs herself to Monica and Edward, defiantly waiting for the shoe to fall. Well, it’s not gonna come from Monica, who still welcomes the girl to the family.

Rebecca stands up to Alexis and Nikolas, defiant and free.

Rebecca gets herself wasted on booze, so Dominic takes note and takes her to his place to sober up.

Nikolas and Elizabeth arrive at a consensus to put their makeout session behind them, with no one else the wiser. Easier said than done, when they are together again under tempting circumstances.

Andrea grouses to Robin about being picked on.

Robin never lets on to Andrea that she could be the only murder suspect left.

Robin goes gunning for Andrea, picking up clue after clue.

Andrea clues herself in to Robin chasing after her.

Patrick begs Robin to be careful to whom she throws allegations at, and that Andrea is quite capable of murder 2.

Andrea sneaks a peek at Robin’s itinerary as a doctor.

Lulu somehow super-glues her hands to her hair, requiring Dr. Matt’s services.

Next week: Jax knows about Olivia and Sonny’s bastard child. After a talk with Olivia, Jax figures it’s best (for him) to not breathe a word… Olivia turns Johnny’s advances down. He keeps at her until she can’t refuse… Johnny has had enough of Claudia… Elizabeth scolds Nikolas… Nikolas seeks to vilify Rebecca… Elizabeth rebuffs Nikolas, soundly… Sonny expresses willingness to repair his marriage to Claudia… Dominic lays his hands on the one thing that could send Sonny away forever… Uh oh. Sam’s falling for hunky Jason again. She resists, up to a point. But then gives in and soon, the two are making sweet love… Jason and Sam hit the jackpot in their mission… Kristina admits to Michael that she probably caused the car accident that gave Claudia the miscarriage… Jax tries to bully Spinelli into getting what he needs… Robin should’ve been more discreet about who’s around when she talks murder investigation.

Andrea listens in on Robin's progress report in proving her guilt on Thursday, August 27. Patrick is worried about Robin's safety.
The Inside Story: Going Home
Kiefer's rejection makes Kristina resolute to go home and accept her punishment. Michael maintains that there's still a significant chance he was the one who caused Claudia's accident despite Kristina's confession on Wednesday, August 26. Jax presses Spinelli to give him Kristina and Michael's location. Michael steals a watch from a tourist, hoping to hock it and get enough money to buy Kristina a plane ticket home. Michael's plan hits a major snag when the goon realizes he was robbed on Thursday, August 27. Jason and Sam find Michael and Kristina in the nick of time. Claudia overhears Sonny and Alexis discussing Kristina's culpability in her accident on Friday, August 28. Michael refuses to return home. A stunned Kristina learns that Alexis has taken the fall for her.

Jax confronts Olivia with the knowledge that Dominic is Olivia and Sonny's son - Dante. Jax can't deny Olivia's assertion that he loves the ides of Dominic taking Sonny down on Monday, August 24. Carly is surprised by Jax's sudden acceptance of Dominic. Claudia responds to Sonny's resolution to make their marriage work with the proposition that they make another child. Claudia and Sonny connection grows as the moll bonds with Morgan on Tuesday, August 25. Sonny assures Claudia that he's no longer going to pursue Olivia, which a pleased Dominic overhears. So what's happening on "General Hospital" in the month of September? Oh, you know. Nothing special. Only a CARNIVAL OF DEATH! What does it all mean? Who's in danger? Why is that carousel horse crying a bloody tear in the promo commercials? We'll answer all (except that last one), just read on ...

So, for real, though, the Port Charles carnival is the setting for a thrilling series of events that all start when Andrea Floyd realizes that Edward Quartermaine can place her at the scene of Brianna Hughes's murder. So Edward's got to go! But when Andrea drugs him, it leads to him plowing through the carnival in his car. Name a character you love, and we'll tell you they're at the carnival, and their lives are in danger.

In the aftermath of the carnival disaster, characters are brought closer together -- Jason and Sam (yay!) and Liz and Nikolas (umm ...) -- and secrets might be exposed. What could happen that would motivate Olivia to spill the secret she's kept for over twenty years (i.e. that her son Dante is actually Sonny's ... and a cop ... and goes by Dominic now)? Gotta tune in.

Back to Liz and Nikolas, though, the pairing may be awkward (he's Lucky's brother! She's like a sister to him!), but it's undeniable that they're crazy attracted to one another. Look for that to continue, and for them to find it harder and harder to stay apart. And then there's poor Lucky, blissfully ignorant. For now. By the end of the month, his and Elizabeth's relationship reaches a major turning point.

Once Michael gets back to Port Charles (from his summer on the beach in Cancun -- let's all feel sorry for him, okay?), he starts to deal with the flashes of memory he keeps getting from back in his coma days. Remember, back when Claudia, Jax, pretty much anyone with a burdened conscience came to his bedside to apologize for how things turned out. Well it's all coming back to Michael now. Will he finally remember Claudia confessing to getting him shot? You know, memories are a tricky thing -- we don't always recall things exactly as they happened.

Look for Spinelli and Maxie to go full speed ahead with their engagement, despite the fact that Maxie is totally petrified of getting married. We can tell you that their wedding does happen by month's end. As for whether they go through with the "I do" part ... well, flip a coin. Either way, Jason's going to be a completely adorable best man. (P.S. Any takers on whether Jason will show up wearing a tight-fitting tuxedo t-shirt?)

And don't think the Carnival of Death is the only danger waiting down the road for Port Charles. Anthony Zacchara is back and up to his old mischief. And by "mischief" we definitely mean "violent attacks on Sonny and anyone connected to him." As is usually the case, two unintended targets will get caught in the crossfire. One ends up on death's door.

All this, plus Kristina falls deeper into her abusive relationship with Kiefer, Claudia wants another baby (always a safe bet when you're Mrs. Sonny Corinthos!), and don't forget: Anthony Geary and Constance towers return as Luke and Helena on September 30th! What a way to end the month, huh?

Boy, do they know how to throw a carnival in Port Charles. Rides, games, cotton candy … cataclysmic event. With all the city's residents in the same place, it doesn't take much to put everyone we care about in danger.

So when Andrea drugs Edward Quartermaine to keep him from incriminating her in the Hughes murder, and Edward goes into cardiac arrest on the road and plows through the carnival, countless characters are in dire peril. As in, death occurs and a hell of a lot more people get injured (you know, rides collapsing, people getting hit … the works).

The one good thing (if you could call it that) that develops from the carnival disaster is that Jason and Sam are drawn closer together, as are Elizabeth and Nikolas. Yes, Nikolas and Elizabeth. It's time for another kiss between the two, who can't resist each other despite themselves. But did we mention someone witnesses? Think it's Lucky?

Don't expect the Corinthos family to leave the carnival unscathed. When encountering life or death situations, people tend to want to reveal the whole truth. And after the carnival disaster, Olivia may have to blow the Dominic/Sonny father/son secret -- because someone's life may depend on it. And then there's the whole drama with Kristina ... well, we're getting ahead of ourselves. You'll have to watch.

And that's just the beginning. Characters going missing, characters being injured, characters being thrown together! It's a huge week on "GH" -- so don't expect everyone to make it out alive.

GH Spoilers: Week of September 7

TRAGEDY STRIKES THE CARNIVAL

While enjoying the carnival, Jason and Sam begin to re-connect with each other. Sonny and Olivia run into each other and reminisce about their time at the amusement park on Coney Island. Nikolas clashes with Ethan and push each others buttons. Nikolas challenges Ethan to tell Rebecca that he's only out for revenge and nothing more.

Terror strikes the carnival as a drugged Edward suffers a heart attack while driving his car. The car crashes through the carnival leaving destruction in its wake. Elizabeth, Lucky and Jason search feverishly for Jake, who is missing; they find the child and he's unconscious. Jason asks Sam to stay with him while they all wait to hear about Jake's condition.

While Max lays unconscious, Diane reveals her true feelings for him. Alexis learns Kristina is among those who are still missing. Lucky and Elizabeth receive word about Jake's condition. Nikolas is there and reaches out to Elizabeth. Jason sees Nikolas and Elizabeth sharing a passionate kiss and is concerned. Kristina is discovered in the carnival wreckage by Michael. Diane hears good news about Max, but Max confides in Milo that he cannot feel anything 'down there'. Edward is devastated to hear he is to blame for the accident.
SECRETS MUST BE EXPOSED

After Dominic is injured saving Morgan at the carnival, Olivia has to face the fact she may have to reveal her secret to save her son's life. Olivia learns Dominic may need an organ transplant and struggles with telling Sonny the truth. Olivia talks privately with Dominic about telling Sonny and Patrick overhears her secret. Later, Patrick tells Olivia he knows Dominic is Sonny's son. Claudia interrupts just as Olivia is about to tell Sonny her secret.
ELSEWHERE IN PORT CHARLES

Anthony puts his son in danger when he orders his men to start their reign of violence against Sonny. Johnny is severely wounded when he saves Spinelli from gunfire. Edward admits to Robin it was Andrea who murdered Brianna. Andrea mission is accomplished as she succeeds in drugging Edward. Michael remembers Claudia apologizing to him after he was shot. Sam and Jason have a heart to heart talk. Elizabeth tells Nikolas they cannot act on the feelings they have for each other. Lucky has a surprise for Elizabeth. Kristina is being manipulated by Keifer.
