My son was suspended from the school bus for five days for saying, "Kathy has a vagina", yesterday. Kathy is the bus driver & guess what? She has a vagina.

He is 12 years old. He could have said a whole lot worse.(& has for that matter) Plus, given the fact that he is in Health class this 9 weeks learning that girl's have vaginas & boys have penises have completely escaped these people.

I can't wait until summer vacation. Evil or Very Mad

I'm there raising it so often, they hate to see me coming. I should have my own office, I am there so much. I seriously thought about it, but decidied this was so insignificant I would let this one go. If I take him to school, we can both sleep a little later.

But, I mean come on. Vagina? He could have said "Pussy" & then I would get it. Vagina is not a bad word.

They have really gotten ridiculous with some of the stuff these days. They punish kids for stupid minor things.

You guys are going to love this one and I can safely say it not only pissed me off but practically everyone in my office at work. They are just starting to give us breaks at work, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Anyway, we received an email that explained the break policy and how it works and it contained the following information: "If you need to step away to go to the bathroom, you need to contact the control center (our scheduling folks...and we use an inner office instant messenger for that) to let them know you need to step away and wait for them to let you know its ok". Excuse me????? So now we basically have to ask permission to use the bathroom at work??? Im a 41 year old woman, I haven't asked permission to use the bathroom in 25-30 years and now we're being told we need to ask permission? Yeah, we're all pretty pissed about that. :soapbox:

I'm not sure about where you work, but in arkansas, they are required by law to give you a fifteen minute break for every four hours worked. If you are working eight hours, that would mean two breaks.

Yeah, I'm in Texas and from what I understand, we have no such law here (we're basically only getting the breaks because our offices merged with offices in a state where they legally get breaks...so lucky us...LOL). We're also an at will state...they can fire us for whatever reason. The joys of living & working in Texas...LOL.

We went to Mike's parent's house today for Easter. Some of the boys were wanting to hide the eggs instead of hunt. Mike's cousin told them no, that if they hid them, there wouldn't be enough kids to hunt them. Eric had his heart set on hiding them, but he didn't put up too much of a fuss. Eric's cousin apparently whined enough that they let him hide them. After that, he still tried to hunt them, and even tried to take some of Eric's from him! Mike and I weren't in the room when this was going on, but he said there were lots of adults around, and no one said anything. It really pissed me off that they let him hide them, but they wouldn't let Eric. He was hurt, but tried to hide it. Later, after everyone else left, he told us everything that happened and he was very upset. We helped him feel better by letting him hide his eggs while we hunted for them, but that never should have happened. He probably wouldn't have cared if none of the kids had been allowed to hide them. I know it sounds small, but to a kid, that's a big deal and very unfair.
