Bad story w/ a happy ending

Okay...so, I have no idea if this made national news or not...I'm guesing not, w/ other issues, like the economy, being more important.

Here in Washington, a puppy mill was just busted. For those who don't know, puppy mills are where people who want to breed (& sell) purebreds, basically try to churn them out like newspapers on a printing press. The conditions are horrible, not all the puppies get enough food or water, a lot of them are abused, & it's generally not a happy time for these dogs.

Earlier this week, a puppy mill with 400 puppies was busted & the puppies seized. The dogs were sent to various Humane Society facilities to be cleaned & checked out. (They shouwed some of them on TV, & these are some of the cutest dogs I've ever seen.)

Yesterday morning (3/4), the people who RAN the puppy mill forfeited all rights to the puppies (probably to try & get a reduced sentence)....which means the puppies are free to be adopted.



As of last night, there are only 7 puppies w/o homes, out of the original 400...all the rest have been adopted.

it really sucks that your apartment complex doesn't allow pets, but I know how that is. I kind of want to move to a bigger apartment, but everywhere else in my price range is either a dump or doesn't allow pets. There's no way I will get rid of lacey, so I guess im staying put.
