The remake of "Friday the 13th" had a killer opening as the slasher flick pulled in $43.6 million over the long President's Day weekend.
The top 20 movies at U.S. and Canadian theaters Friday through Monday, followed by distribution studio, gross, number of theater locations, average receipts per location, total gross and number of weeks in release, as compiled Tuesday by Media By Numbers LLC:

I LOVE horror flicks & my hubby & I went to this on Friday smile


I will let everyone draw there on conclusions but I liked it for the nostalgia feel. If that makes sense!

I just read they are remaking Nightmare on Elmstreet which I always LOVED more than Friday so I definately cannot wait!

Yup, I heard the same thing ans at 1st I was like "WHAT" but then I thought it's time for the next generations Freddy to step up LOL lol! So it really doesn't bother me. I know it's a remake but I want it to be its own in this generation smile

I think the horror films of today suck ass, so I'm excited to see an old-school slasher fic. I was worried about this "re-imagining" or whatever...but it looks good.
