But I respect Kathy's defense of one of her faves...it makes the board more fun that we don't all agree.

If we all agreed, the conversations would get pretty boring. I love defending Sam when necessary, and explaining, respectfully, my utter and complete loathing of others! If we all loved the same characters, there wouldn't be any debating.

It's so funny that the concept of respect was brought up. I left a board I had been on for a very long time over that same thing. BUt it was not a charcater repsect that was the problem, it was that the board owner did not respect who actually watched the show.

I was one of the few people who was still watching (of those who posted regularly) and was vocal with the couple of others about that we were still watching, that we had not given up. Anyway, one day I went into the welcome thread and I saw a post from the board owner to a new person welcoming them. I went int o that thread quite often, as I had been iwht the board since day 2 and I always felt like I wanted to welcome those who joined, as I had been pretty happy there and wanted other to feel the same. I had been getting some flack about watching the show but had taken it in good spirits and jest up till that point. A new person had posted a hello, to which the owner had replied. The new member had said they were frustrated with the show and was happy to find somewhere where they could read fics until the show got better. The owner welcomed the new person, then put a side note to the person that they secretly did not respect anyone who was currently watching the show. Not a secret anymore, lol. So I welcomed the new member, and said good-bye to everyone else.

I get update e-mails every now and then from them and finally I decided to reply back to the owner asking her to make me off the e-mail list. She responded with a "where have you been I hope all is okay" - apparently she didn't even notice I was offended by her comment and had left her board. I thought we had become friends but apparently it was one-sided. She never contacted me once about my reply to her post. I was on her YIM list, and she has my e-mail.

And I am still getting the e-mail updates. Sigh. I deleted my bookmark to the site, so I think I need to go to the site and ask to be removed from the member list. I do not plan on going back there to post again.

Anyway, now that my story has gotten really long, I love the respect we have for each other here. It means a lot to me that you all respect my feelings and I hope you know I respect yours in return.

We love you, Kathy! I can't believe someone would say that, especially running a GH board! Why would you even have a board for a show you don't watch? What's the point? I don't get it.

Well, she was watching when she started the board. It's a board mainly based around a certain couple. It expanded to 3 couples as she liked other pairings, but then as tiem went on she got mad at the writing and the screwing around with the couples and that was it for her. SHe cahgned her board to a fic board and stopped watching the show.

That's crazy. I wouldn't want to be on a board like that, especially one where the owner seems to decide everything. A is the owner here, but if you didn't know that, you would never guess. This board belongs to the members, everyone has a voice.

Totally! I made the mistake once thinking someone else was the owner, lol.

Yeah, I do not plan on going back. I may go just to delete my membership. But I deleted all my bookmarks so I have to find it...
