Why is Guza copying Pratt?

Suddenly Rebecca has been discovered to be Emily's twin sister that Paige and Hank Bowen sold because they couldn't afford two babies. Just about a month or so ago on AMC, it was revealed to Marissa that she was Babe's twin sister. Krystal sold her because she couldn't afford to support two babies. Strange coincidence??? So original.

At least Rebecca and Marissa are different types of characters, but the similarities are, well,

I'm sure Guza will say it was HIS idea first. After all, he pitched something to Natalia when she left the role of Emily, and she said it was a really good story. Not that I am saying this was a really good story...lol

I just don't get why NotEm just didn't tell the truth from the start.

The thing that sucks is that it could have been a good story but the reason for making a con didn't make sense to me. Not to mention that she is trying to be sweet like Em but supposed to be all bitter & I don't find the bitterness believable at all.
