ISIE's Adventures in L.A. and to GH Fan Weekend 2009

Hello my people!!! 
I know I know...you've been wondering WHEN I'd post on this...but believe me ISIS has experienced forserious jet-lag since coming home...didn't get it nearly as bad going. But needless to say I HAD A FABULOUS TIME IN LOS ANGELES!!!...YES I DID!!!
OK say I left CLE Friday Jul 17th...I don't like to fly so I was VERy nervous...I was also tired cuz I had stayed up ALL night trying to tire myself so I could sleep on the plane...HOWEVER I was so anxious I couldn't really sleep on the plane...I landed at LAX around 2:30 and by 3:30 I had my rental car...which was supposed to be like Corolla or Civic or even Camry or Accord...something in that range...I should have asked for MY car *Grand Prix*...instead I asked about a convertible...and they gave me a discount...for only 5$ more a day for what I WOULD have paid...I got a PT Cruiser convertible....and I was on my way *HOWEVER they COULD have washed it for me...I didn't realize it was DIRTY till I got on the road good.*...anywho...by 3:30 I was on my way to Van Nuys and the hotel...WHICH by CLEVELAND traffic would have taken no more than 15/20mins...HOWEVER this is L.A. and if you don't get on the freeways BEFORE 2 forget it...so the 405 was a parking lot for several miles
...all I could do was relax...put on my jazz...and cruise...I dropped the top cuz I had never driven in a drop top before...MAN WAS IT HOT in L.A. *would you believe that Fan Weekend was the beginning of a HEATWAVE out there?*...and it was HOT!!! I shoulda put the top up...but never had the real moment to do it...on the freeway...so I bathed in sun screen and kept it movin'...It took about an hour and a half to get to the hotel...FORSERIOUSLY, traffic was ThAT horrific!...
When I got to the hotel...I was greated by such awesome ppl...my FAVORITE Hotel desk clerk was Sherry, who checked me in...she made sure I had everything I needed, told me where to drive to the closest entrance to my room, whenever I came down to the lobby area and she wa on duty, she'd ask me how was it going...she was REALLY nice and hospitable.
So I get to my room *room 3009 in the back tower*...and I exhale...I was TIRED...but I had to keep moving...I needed food and I wanted to get in touch with a friend who also lived in Van Nuys. SO I showered and changed and went downstairs...As I got off the elevator and was getting my bearings on which way to go, I bumped into my FIRST GH star of the weekend, FINE @$$ Greg Vaughn!
...and let me tell you that man is FINE!!! He was walking in and he was talking with someone but he acknowledged me with his eyes...and once he finished his convo I said, "Hey Greg!'...and he said "HEY!" and greeted me with THEE BEST HUG EVER!!! ...so warm and welcoming...I think he could sense that I had just arrived. He asked me my name and I told him ISIS *forgetting I was going by my REAL first name at the event*...and he smiled and asked me how I was doing. We chatted a few minutes and I told him that I think it's a shame the way GH is doing him and he agreed. I told him that his "advocates" got his back and he thanked me and then we both went on our way.
So I made my way to the front of the hotel and in to the bar area...where I ordered myself some dinner...and a MUCH needed drinky poo. then I called my friend Michael, who lived nearby and he said he'd be right over as soon as he finished some task he was workign on at home. So after dinner I went and chilled by the pool...it was NICE out...not too hot...just right...and who do I see swimming in the pool?...DYLAN CASH aka OldMikey. He was chillin in the pool with the rest of the guests...swimming, laughing , having a great time there. I was on the phone talking to my family back home and filling them in on my flight and trip so far.
Michael came to get me and we hit the streets. I told him I wanted to learn how to get around the area by car WITHOUT having to depend on the local freeways. So we first end up in encino whic is just a spit away from Van Nuys. *just to its south*. And we're cruising through, checkign out the scene...and he turns down this one street and parks in front of this house and asks, "Recognize this house?"...and I'm looking at it, the front gate and wall, the top of the house*which was all I could really see of it*, the curve of the driveway, and before it dawns on me, Michael says, "It's Michael Jackson's house."...and I'm looking again, and see the familiar lion's head on the gate area...and I realize, "Oh YEAH!, it's his PARENT's house!"...which btw is conveniently down the street from a grocery store
...We saw these idiots trying to clib the wall to look over 
Then Michael took me on other streets an pointed out some houses of other past and present celebs that I know and then we headed furthur down Ventura through Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood,...past the Hollywood Bowl, which had a Faith Hill concert in progress so traffic was "interesting around there...and down into Hollywood. We ended up on the Blvd where we parked under the Kodak theater and walked the scene...this is where I really had to become a tourist for a minute and took some shots *which you will see in the piccys*...we walked the WALK of FAME and I took shots of some star's STARS...on my quest for THEE STAR I was there for...and I took a shot of Grauman's Chinese Theater of course and some of the slabs there...There was the Roosevelt Hotel...an awesome building to look at...it just called me to take it's picture *I should have gone inside but I didn't*...but just the sight of it's outside ...I had to get a shot of it...it's such a tragic vibe I get form it...like there are many stories to tell from it...and Michael said he's SURE there are...that building SCREAMS "Old Hollywood". Then there was the street sign shot...that I STOPPED traffic to get.
BUT...the HIGHLIGHT...FOR ME...of HOLLYWOOD BLVD...Of course...was the reason I went there in the first place...to get a shot of Angie Dickinson's star *you DO know she's my absolute FAVORITE actress ever, right?*...and MICHAEL...my friend...KNOWS HER! So I took a FEW shots by the star and of the star...I was SOOOO happy I could hardly contain myself!
So more shots of the BLVD...then off to find food...we ate at DuPars...a NICE restuarant with some Hollywood history as well...the very booth we sat in was in the movie Boogie Nights for one...but it seems to be a HOT spot kinda place to eat...and the food was GOOD.
So Michael took me back to the hotel afterwards...I was tired and so was he...he's worked all day...so he was being a REAL friend to come out and take me around in the first place...>I go to my room and couldn't believe I actually slept that night...but I did....TBC...

On to Saturday...Day three of Gh Weekend...Day 2 of ISIE being in L.A....Day 1 of ISIE's participation on GH Weekend...
I had to get up EARLY...*6AM*...to meet up with some ppl I met there for breakfast BEFORE the whole Main Event began *which was 8:30ish. The rooms down by where my hotel room was had been opened up into this HUGE store area where you could purchase piccys and t shirts and what have you...I CLEANED UP on piccys...getting like 5 8x10 piccys for 10 bucks...and smaller pics for like $1 a pop...and less...I got a Monica t shirt with her medical bag on it...I bought my Gram a Scrubs t shirt...but it was all about the pics for me...cuz when you have p ics...you have pics to be AUTOGRAPHED basically.
Then it was off to the main ballroom in the front of the hotel for the beginning of the main event/luncheon...and I was at a table ...IN THE BACK...but it was all good...none of the ppl I knew form the forums or form just meeting them at the event was at MY table...but it was still ...all good...and they served us...fruit, potato salad and wraps for lunch...I didn't really care for it though...so I didn't eat much...and then they stars came in...John Ingle was like the emcee kinda...him and John York...well, Ingle introduced all the stars that were present for the Questions and Answers...and York went around the audience with a mic and had one person from the table of where the question came from speak...*btw each table was to wrote down two questions to be asked of any of the stars*...I must say John J. York is a handsome one...and FUN...Funny and lively...he'd make a GREAT game show host...or something...I think he needs his OWN show...*feel free to ask me who was there*...
So after the questions and answers part...the cast was escorted by security back over to the other building where the store was...and it was now set up for them to sit at tables...usually two by two *and usually by association of the characters...for example John Ingle was next to Natalia Livingston*...and sign autographs and chat with the fans...I went to Kent King and Minae Noji's *Lainey and Kelly* table first...their line was short and I have been a fan of Kent's since Knot's Landing...and told her so...these two ladies were SO sweet...and lively girls!...we got to chat for a good minute...and I took two pics with them...they invited me to GNO later in that very room...I told them I wasn't sure when Nancy's event would end...and they told me that trust them...they'd still be going strong and to come hang out if I could.
I then went to John York's line...he had nobody in it at that moment...so I got to chat with him for a WHILE...he had pics with him...FOR FREE...he signed a pic for me...and we talked till some more ppl got in his line...then I went and got in Greg's line...which wa long...but moving...and when I got up there to him he was like "ISIS!!! HEY!!!" and I smiled cuz he remembered me...and he complimented my smile and we chatted some more and I took a piccy with him...really John York and Greg...those were my boyfriends for the weekend....such SWEET GUYS!.
I wanted to get in Brandon's line...but it was LONG and slow...so was Lisa's...and suprisingly Dominic's...I by passed Bradford and Kirsten...just wasn't interested...esp Kirsten who IMO seemed a little bit uppity...but that's just the vibe I got from her...made me NOT want to meet her...I then went into John Ingle's line...which was short as most folks were in Natalia's line and I think they thought it was ONE line when in fact it was two *cuz when they saw me talking to him...that's when they got in HIS line*...but John is really the fuzzy warm grandpa...he was so cute...we talked a great deal...and he told me he loved my hair...it reminded him of Manny Ramirez...and I said yeah but no...Manny has dreds and I have two strand braids basically....I then told him how much a Q fanatic I will always be...and that it hurts my heart to see them NOT really having much story...esp now with Mikey in the house.
I wanted to get in Coleman's line *forget his real name but he's CUTE!*...his line was LONG...I was surpised...but hey Coleman is FUN. So I instead hit the lobby area...and went straight to Lexi's table...*aka NuKrissy*...Lexi is a sweet girl...so little...short and tiny...I got an autograph and kept it movin cuz there were others in her line...and she said she'd be at Nancy's event later so I told he we'd talk more then...Nice girl...I then went to Derk and Drew's area...these guys became two more boyfriends for the weekend!...FUN personalities...and when they found out I was form Cleveland *they're from Bowling Green*...they were like HEY Homegirl!!!...I was IN with them at that point on!
I then crossed over to Aaron and Haley's line...it was short for the moment...and along with Lexi...I called them My babies...cuz they are just babies to me...and so cute and sweet...and gracious...I took like three pics with them...and those shots are some of my FAVORITES from the whole weekend!...Haley would later be at bnancy's event as well...then I crossed back over to Dylan's table...we talked for a minute ...I asked him what he was up too...he said just chillin ...watching after his nephew and being a teen...I told him being a teen is a good thing...and that I hoped he would get more work soon though because he really is a good actor.
Then it was on to Carolyn's table...she was another FUN one...she scoped out my bracelets and LURVED THEM...little did she know one of them was FAKE FAKE FAKE...but I liked it so I had to have it. I liked her sandals she was wearing and her shirt...told her that I like fiesty Di and I like her friendship with Alexis...and her flirtatious little thing with Max. *notice how NOBODY says anything about Di and Max's "older woman/younger man" affair but they're all over JoLivia like it's a sin*...
I wanted to get Ingo's autograph for my Aunt...but I swear he held the record for the LONGEST line...I never got a chance...and then he left early to boot...but he was the shocker at the event because he NEVER goes to the Fan Weekend yet he came this year. He and Laura had their own rooms *hotel rooms next to one another*...because the other room was FULL and they had HUGE lines...but Laura's line moved fast and Laura is ANOTHER fun one!...she had her ipod going she was drinking a beer and CHILLIN...she had bottles of champagne for ppl to buy and for her to sign...don't know if the money was going to charity or not *the main event's money was NOT going to charity...and I do know that's why a couple of stars chose NOT to attend that part...btu they were also having their own events that WERE for charity*...
After Laura...I was spent...needed a rest...so I went upstairs...for a bit...I laid across my bed..and called home...excitedly telling my Gram about EVERYTHING from the day so far...She enjoyed hearing about my adventures as much as I enjoyed experiencing.
I didn't sit long...just long enough to catch my breath and freshen up a little...then I got antsy and so off in the PT I went..in search of adventure...before heading to the Beverly Garland for Nancy's event...

Tyler was nice enough when I met him, he did seem a bit shy, though. He talked to me a bit, about Nascar of all things*** but he was not who I went there to meet. I wanted to meet laura & Greg, so I did my best to hide my disappointment, don't know how successful I was. I wouldn't call him standoffish, but "shy" & that surprised me from an actor.

So like I had a good two and a half hours to kill...
So like I said...I got in the PT...and kicked it through the Valley...it was too hot to drop that top at that point *dayum!*...but I kicked it HARD...had my jams going...bumped them too!...drove East down Sherman Way to Sepulveda and hung a right...took it to Burbank and hung a left and drove down to Vineland...*GPS is a BEAUTIFUL THING...I TOTALLY recommend it when traveling it takes you RIGHT where you need to go*...so I learned where the Beverly Garland was without taking the freeway...I kept driving...and went down to Ventura...and hung a right....went up Ventura to Coldwater Canyon and went left...UP into the canyon towards Beverly Hills...
I had an agenda at this point...Angie lives off of Coldwater Canyon...so now I didn't know that this road was THAT dayum hilly and curvy...but MAN!!! Honest to goodness was it HILLY and CURVY!!! ...now if I were in my Grand Prix...I'd be good to go cuz it sits lower and is wide enough that it HUGS the curves...as it was built for that...HOWEVER I'm in the PT...and not taking this ride too well...was getting a little motion sickness from I held up traffic cuz I REFUSED to do more than 25...I know those folks were pissed at me...but I think they knew I wasn't a citizen cuz they didn't honk at me or anything....but I know they were glad when I FINALLY made it to Beverly Drive....But anywho...Ms. Angie lives off Coldwater Canyon...and I had this dilemma all the way up the canyon...to drive by...or not to...cuz I know her address...like I know my own....so all the way up I've like got the little angel and devil battling it out over whether I should drive by or not...
...I am proud to say...the ANGEL won out...I'm a fan...not a stalker...now if ever I am INVITED...I will GLADLY tackle that dayum canyon road again....but until then...No Coldwater Canyon...or Laurel Canyon roads for ISIS...
So I drove Beverly Drive till I got to Sunset and hung a right...the Beverly Hills Hotel is RIGHT there...BEAUTIFUL...but I couldn't get a piccy...I shoulda turned around and parked on the side of the road...but I didn't...instead I kept going...I shoulda drove down Beverly Dr. more to Melrose...DAYUM me! Beverly Hills is a GORGEOUS community indeed...I really wish I coulda gotten at least ONE shot...Dayum ME!
So it was getting near time for Nancy's event...and because I REFUSED to go back up Coldwater Canyon...I trekked it down Sunset to the dreaded 405... it was like 5 o'clock...so RUSH HOUR 
...so U know me...I put on my tunes... 
and manuvered my way up to the 101...then punched it! 
...got back to the Beverly Garland...a bit early...SOOOO I went back down on Ventura *just down the street in search of sushi...didn't find that but found China Wok...hey a sistah was HUNGRY...remember I didnt' eat that crappy lunch I paid lots of cash for at the Main Event...and I couldn't wait for Nancy's event to eat...so I ate chinese...bagged most of it for later though...then headed back up the street to the Beverly Garland...
I checked in and got my ID tag * I had a NICE one too...got my seat...I was sitting with ppl I chatted with on Nancyfan and NLG.com so it was koo to meet them in person...I chatted with the staff of NLG.com and when I told them my name on the board they were like ISIS!!! HEY!!!...I tell you it felt good to be welcomed so warmly...like family!...got to my seat...y'all should see my gift bag...HUGE!!!...lots of STUFF in it too...I never even noticed Nancy come in...till she was at the podium already...this is how koo Nancy is...she's so laid back...she didn't need an introduction...like ALL of the others did...Nancy gets up to the podium and greats us ALL...and then proceeds to make us take "the PLEDGE"...
And to keep Nancy not in trouble...I will not tell all...but I will tell what I know I can...
So the questions and answers part was SO fun...it was so informal...we could ask as many quesitons and make comments as we liked...and we did...everything from "WTH is Guza and co doing?"...to "SOOOOO what DID you think when you first saw that script about Alexis and the Mayor?" I stated that I have been a viewer since birth and that I remember the days of racing home from school to watch...and hurrying home from work to watch...and I said that GH needs to get back to actually TELLING THE STORY...not giving us the Reader's Digest version...I said in all honesty the LAST time GH REALLY took the time to TELL a story was Sexis...and that since that time period the writer's have not taken as much time or care with their writing...and THAT"S why GH sucks.... I aksed do they ever actually LOOK AT the archives...and watch OLD eps...by OLD I mean GH in it's heyday of the 70s and 80s...cuz this Brianna Hughes murder mystery SUCKS!!!...why kill a character the audience could give a rat's @$$ about?...they could have at least let us get to know her first.
Nancy said that everybody is on the same page in that factor and that in the end everyone wants GH to be sucessful...it's just they all have different ideas about how to get it there.
She also said that she liked the way they did the Sexis plot...and didn't like how they changed the plan with that...but that was Guza's thing...and we've read before that Guza hated Sexis....but we also know that he didn't just end Sexis...he ended GREAT WRITING in general that year.
She also said that she missed Rick Hearst but is happy that he was able to tell GH to shove it before they fired him instead....and we all agreed. *btw Rick did hold his own event it was Monday while I was checking out of the hotel...but he had A LOT of ppl that attended and I am glad for him.*
Anywho...Lexi and Haley showed up...Haley got there first...and in person you can REALLY see how much she favors Nancy...both girls really could be her kids...and when Lexi showed up and you see them standing all together...yeah...good casting...and Nancy said looking at them you can really see how they could be the product of her and Mo'...*I grinned of course as you all know in my world Molly is really Sonny's kid anyways*...
Then she looks over to Kate...who was in the back helping Eb and them and says, "Honey I guess I should tell you now, Mo is really your daddy."...LOL...LMAO!!!...Nancy is SOOO funny...*remembering the days of the hideous rumors it's good to know she can joke about that now*...
So like after the Q&A...Nancy came down and greeted EVERYBODY...she chatted with and signed autographs for those leaving to go to Megan's event and on to GNO...so all of us who were staying behind waited and then when they left she signed our stuff and chatted with us all...LITERALLY she went to EVERY table and EVERY person...signed pics...and talked to us...
In my case...it was funny...she came to my table first cuz mostly everyone there was leaving to go to Megan's event...So when she saw me...and I introduced myself she was like "LaShawn!!! I know you!" and I was like, "You DO?"...and she's like "Yeah! You're on the forum and on Facebook!!! Yeah, you're funny." and I'm like surprised she knows me first of all, and I'm like, "I AM???"...and so I felt REALLY at ease around her...like I've known her forever kinda ease...and that felt really nice...she sat down and we talked...I told her I was a teacher and she asked me about homework...where I admitted sometimes I have to give more than I wish...but I am working to change that through more project based learning...which she liked that idea because she said Kate gets bogged down with homework...like three hours worth...and I explained how much they cram into one year as far as curriculum goes and that I hate it too...
Now I thought we were only allowed two piccys to be signed *at least that was the case for other events*...however all while we were talking, Nancy was signing my pics...ALL of them...and I had some OLD pics...one Sexis of course...but older pics of her...and one new one *the one I call "Lexie the Naughty DA" piccy*...She laughed at the one of her in the fur...I told her it was a koo pic...I'd never have the guts myself...and when she saw the Sexis pic she grinned...I told her that I'll be a Sexis fan till I take my last breath...the chemistry between her and Mo' is classic and timeless...and I told her that I woudn't mind neither moving on AFTER Sexis at least gets their REAL moment...even if it's for closure....She said she too would like to see Sexis have something...closure...SOMETHING...she agreed that to just leave them hanging for seven years is wrong....and she really does enjoy working with Mo.
And Tami...never fear...she enjoys working with Sebastian also....*you're fellow J-Lex supporters had ya back girl*
So while Nancy was moving around chatting it up with us and taking pics and such...Lexi and Haley were at the podium answering questions then they came down as well and chatted and took piccys...and like I said earlier...I called them My babies...they are such great kids...I told them to STAY that way...
Kate ran the raffle...she called the numbers and told of the prizes...I won twice I think...I got a lunch bag and something else...a t shirt maybe...*I ended up with THREE t shirts by the time the night was over...LOL!...
So like we were literally having so much fun chillin with Nancy...that the staff of the Beverly had to put us out...LITERALLY...they were like, "Uh, Ms. Grahn...we have to start cleaning up and such."...they were nice about it...they really were...but alas the event had to end...and we lally gagged as long as we could before departing...
I go to the parking lot...and who am I parked NEXT to? Guess...
ISIS TRULY had an AWESOME TIME CHILLIN' with Nancy.

ISIS!!! I am soooo thrilled for you...and only a little jealous! You lucky Dog! Running into Greg Vaughn was definitely 'lucky'! I can't even imagine how that man could possibly look anymore fine than he does on TV, but everyone swears that he does. I wish I could meet him someday, but no one ever comes anywhere near here, and there's no way I'd ever go by myself anyway!
I love that you got to meet so many of the actors/actresses! I can't believe that Kirsten seemed uppity! She always seems so easy going and personable in interviews, but maybe she was having a bad day.
I have a question for you regarding that though. Does that slightly ruin Maxie for you? I would hate that.
I'm so excited for you that you got to spend so much time with Nancy! I know you love her, so that must have been awesome!!! Her event sounds like it was so much fun, and very interesting! Hey...if I can travel all the way from L.A. BY MYSELF...so can you...now imagine if some of us from here decide to go next year...we can hang out and we won't be totally "alone" all the time...maybe even get a group package....as you see I hung out with some folks at the events...I even had breakfast woth one of the girls who was there and we met down in the bar...cuz we didn't want to eat by ourselves...but then I went off by myself too...it was nice.

Not really...I am not a HUGe fan of Maxie...I still like the character *although I am not feeling SpinMax at all*

YAY my fellow JLEX Lovers and YAY Isis!! LOL.....thank you for sharing that and for sharing your experience. I really wish I could have been there. I almost went two years ago and even had my tickets but couldn't go, darn it....maybe next year! I'd love to meet Nancy (and online friends like you, of course!). Sounds like you had a blast, Isis!

Well...I'm PRETTY SURE I was parked next to Nancy
So I left the Beverly Garland and journeyed back to my Hotel where everything else GH was happening. I didn't want to take the 101 to the 405 even though I knew I'd get back sooner...so I took the min streets...bumped the jazz I had playing...it was the Jeff Lorber Fusion's Soft Space album from 1977 *I think it's their first*...LURVE IT....what a great collection of music to CRUISE the Valley to.
I got back to the hotel around 10:30...and Kent and Minae's Girl Night Out party was in FULL swing...Went upstairs to put away all my goodies from Nancy's event and tipped back downstairs...It was LATE and I wasn't even sure I'd get in in the first palce...but the lady who ran the event came out and I asked was it alright to join them as I'd just gotten back from Nancy's event...she said, "Well, it's just about ending up now." And I looked at her like who are you kidding it JUST started at 9...She stepped inside briefly and came bcak out and said, "C'mon in." I reached in my purse for money, she said you don't have to pay.
So in I went right in the middle of Kimberly McC's little rap she was doing. Now Kim was NOT at the main event earlier with Jason so it was nice to see her at GNO...well kind of...GNO was really fun though...Kent and Minae are NUTZ but FUN...and their special guests were awesome...they had BErgen Williams who plays Big Alice..she was VERY koo...and she's lost over 100 pounds btw!...Kiko Ellsworth who played Stan *they should have NEVER killed off Stan*...the girl who played the black student nurse who was on Night Shift with Nadine and Leyla and she was on GH briefly...forget her screen name and real name. Jason Cook was there as was Ignacio *forget his last name* but he played Diego...HE was SOOOOOO funny...had us dying laughing.
Now there was a DJ and a cash bar there *and I'd already had a margarita or two fomr Nancy's event*...so I was feelin a bit "mellow"...AND I had another there...while I was in line waiting to get my drink...Kim came past and I spoke to her she gave a quick hello and went on her way back to her seat...Jason Cook was standing by the bar...trhe whole time I was there...and ppl were already standing near him waiting to chat it up with him...Kent and Minae wanted to do a tribute to MJ...so we all danced to the Thriller video...I was typsy by then...so it was kinda fun....and after that it was autograph time...HOWEVER Kim had slipped out during thriller...DAYUM her!
the only one I didn't get to was Jason...I mean they had my boy PINNED over in the corner by the bar...and I was too tired to wait for him...I chatted it up with Kiko, Bergen and Ignacio...and right before I left, Greg popped in...so those who either didn't go to the main event...or didn't get to see him earlier...well they were all cheering when he came in...and he was looking TOO fine in that hat he had on...TOO TOO FINE.
I think he left when I was heading upstairs...it had been a LONG day and I was bushed...REALLY bushed...that night time drive and then the margaritas...yeah I was mellow and ready to SLEEP.
It was an AWESOME Saturday...I never dreamed of meeting SOO many ppl from GH as my initial intentions were to hit only a select few...but plans changed...and I was quite content...
I eagerly jumped into my bed that night...tired but a GOOD tired...I was anxious even through my tiredness though...
Sunday would be the day I had been waiting for since I was four years old...

I would have LOVED to meet any of the GH stars but KMC OMG!!!!! She is who dragged me into watching not because it was always on in my house but WATCHING because I LOVED the story & i could not wait to see what happened!!!!
I thought it would Nancy you were parked next to!!!

SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!!!
OK so Like...As tired as I was after GNO...I wasn't able to go to sleep RIGHT away... because I was so anxious about Sunday morning's BRUNCH with my ALL TIME GH FAV!
But I did get to sleep...and the night went FAST...I woke up...and didn't feel too hot at first...JETLAG had FINALLY caught up with me and BOY did I feel it...
along with my nerves...
For the FIRST TIME the whole weekend, I was REALLY nervous!!!
I was meeting LESLIE CHARLESON...THEE MONICA QUARTERMAINE!!!
The reason I wanted/and still do want to be a doctor...paritally the reason I was SO driven all the way through grade school.
And I was finna meet her...IN PERSON!!!
Well, I hadn't picked out anything to wear...and ended up ironing a skirt *good choice cuz it was already HOT*
I was in SLOW MOTION though...like try as I might, I just COULDN'T move at a reasonably quick pace...
My mother called me and it gave me a moment to sit for a minute...and I told her how anxious I was...so understood...EVERYBODY at home would understand why "I" would feel this way...
But it was funny, I'd been almost as anxious to meet Nancy, my stomach had butterflies for a HOT sec with her...but she made me feel so relaxed form the jump...anxiety disappeared I suppose.
After some encouraging words, I got it together and made my way downstairs and to the Bar and restaurant.
Boy, JETLAG is a bitch tho!!!
Cuz I almost felt like I was having an outer body experience when I was walking toward the place...everything felt SO fuzzy...
I was walking up the ramp to the restaurant when who did I see standing outside of the bar?
LESLIE!!!
But JETLAG IS A BITCH!!!
My mind knew that it was her...even making a mental note..."WOW, she's very pretty!"
But my mouth was still NON functioning...
We made eye contact...I had on shades tho...
I couldn't even WAVE at first...
DAYUM JETLAG!!!
SO then, I went up to the desk and was greeted by Chrissy *aka ChrissyMQ on the MQAS board*...and as soon as I gave my name...was greeted with a big smile...it KINDA perked me up...but...
JETLAG IS A Micky Ficky!!!
I got my name tag *not as nice as the one from Nancy's...just a plain ol sticky paper name tag*...and found out I was at TABLE 2...pretty close up...YAY!!!
I was the last one to come to that table as ost of the ppl got there EARLY...I took a seat and spoke to everyone there...who I really didn't know...except for really ONE person that I remembered from Nancy's event...and from the MQAS...but oddly...about two others that I didn't recognize their names knew ME from MQAS.
So like, here's where I had issus with THIS event...they served us FIRST, BEFORE Leslie and 'nem" made their entrances...which I don't think was the original plan...but maybe it was and shouldn't have been.
We ate and I THINK they then did the 50/50 raffle *that NOBODY asked me to buy a ticket for btw*...and there was some NICE stuff that Leslie donated to it *coughcoughswindledandstolefromghcough*...NICE STUFF!!!...and then as we were eating...THEN they introduced Leslie.
The GODDESS...the reason I decided to FINALLY give up the bread to go to Fan Weekend.
AND Leslie entered the room to a roar of YAYs and Applause!!!
SHE IS SO LOVED!!!
I know I perked up at this point...A little!!!
Leslie stood there a sec..and just took it in...she gave the room a WARM smile and she kinda made eye contact with me again...
This time I returned the smile...
but the butterflies returned...and honest to goodness...
ISIS COULDN"T REALLY EAT!!!

Leslie introduced her "special guests" one by one...John Ingle *Edward*, the guy who plays Mikey *Drew something*, Bergen Williams *Big Alice*, PETER HANSEN!!!
*Lee Baldwin*, Denise Alexander , and one of MY BOYFRIENDS that weekend, John J. York!!!
*NOTE: Kathleen Noone WAS in the bar *which served as the Green Room*...but she had to leave so she never made it inside the restaurant...bummer... I LURVED her as Ellen on AMC and Claudia on KL*
So the group came in and sat down at their table...which is on the lower level but directly BEHIND my table *on the upper level*...so John York...he stands his fine @$$ up and leans on the partition between the two areas and starts holding a convo with us at MY table ...and Leslie looks over at us and is like, "Hey! John, I'm not finished yet." *she did it in a playful way though...and John was like, "OH! Sorry, bout that Leslie." And we all sit back down...but the way it was all said...it was kinda funny....DAYUM John is so cute!...he REALLY should have his OWN SHOW...and it's a CRIME that Mac Scorpio doesn't have anything to do on GH most of the time....seriously.
So after Leslie finished greeting everyone and thanking them for coming and showing us what our money was going toward, *the New Canaan Mounted Troop* She joined the others at their table and then they got up to get food...then they tols us to get up and get more...
But I still couldn't eat...my nerves were all a jumble.
Leslie didn't eat much either because while the others were eating she got up and came around to all the tables to greet everyone on a more personal basis. When she came to my table...she instantly recognized a few of the ppl sitting there...as most of them go to Fan Weekend and the Q Brunch..and ANY Leslie event...ALL THE TIME it seems.
Then she looked at ME...the newbie and said, "Hello!" and smiled.
and I COULDN"T SPEAK...
Can you believe it? I was ACTUALLY STAR STUCK!!!
I gave a modest smile and a wave...
and my mind kicked in and was like...DUMB@$$ it's HER...you came all this way to meet her...TALK dammit!...
And FINALLY I found my voice...and said, "WAIT! I, I'm not usually THIS quiet AT ALL....and hadn't been star struck the whole wekend." and some of the ladies who were at Nancy's event could attest to that for me. "But, let me just explain. I've been a fan , of YOURS and of Monica since I wa four years old. SHE is the reason I wanted to be a doctor, and even though I'm a teacher now, I STILL want to be a doctor. I came all the way out her, FROM CLEVELAND, for YOU!"
And when I said how old I was when I became HER fan, Leslie seemed genuinely touched and smiled, then leaned in and gave me the STRONGEST hug and said, "We'll talk later."
I felt SO much better after getting that off my chest and the response from Leslie....and I honestly thought I would cry...I didn't...but I was SURE giddy!!!
SO THEN the ladies of the Fan club let everyone know that the silent auction had a couple more minutes on it...and I who was pissed that I didn't get in on the 50/50 raffle hurried out to look at what was up for auction *that I won't be able to afford* so I thought...
I stepped out on the patio and check out the scene...some of the items had LOTS of bids already *like Jane Eliot's kimono wrap*...but there were a few items with hardly a bid...and ONE with NOTHING...it was Leslie's swimsuit and wrap...and underneath it...a script...I hurridly place a bid *and I could have gone MUCH cheaper...but it was for charity so I bid a decent bid*...and then bidding was closed like a second after I got mine in...too bad, cuz I was gonna bid on something else as well.
I went back into the room, and mingled more with the folks at my table...who really were NICE ppl...the lady next to me, her name was Nancy...and she'd been coming to Q brunches at least since 06'...she had ALBUMS of pics...and shared them with me...it was nice to see all the old piccys...esp from when the Quartermaines were more than just three. As I was looking at the albums, Chrissy came to the table and told me I won my bid *as if I wouldn't * And I paid her what I bidded then grined widely at my winnings...I held up the TINY bathing suit and admired how pretty it was ...LURVED the wrap that came with it...then HUGGED the script...which is what I wanted all along.
BTW...the script *which was autographed by Leslie* was from June 26, 2000 ...during the time Monica thought she was pregnant *but we later find out it that she was beginning menopause*...it was a time period that I actually liked because there were some REALLY good Alan/Monica moments during that storyline.
I will cherish this script...esp as I am a writer.
And now, I have a script from TWO of my all time favorite shows, DALLAS and GH!!! YAY!!!

So then it was time to meet the stars...and they sat them over by the wall *with mirrors behind them

At first I was like, "why are we one of the first tables...but being called LAST?" *tables 1-3...3, 2, 1... actually...called last*...but more importantly...WHY didn't they have the folks who needed to leave for the Scrubs event... go first?...Like Nancy did for those who needed to leave for Megan's event and GNO the night before. Another thing about this event that kinda didn't sit right...blaming the organization of the Fan Club...NOT Leslie....because others at the table wondered the same thing...and then went on to say that this was not THE BEST Brunch...that the organization seemed odd to them as well.
So, I decided NOT to be all crazy about being almost LAST...and looked at it differently...last ones get to stay LONGER...and mingle longer...and it was true...I was at the END of the line basically...as I ended up with the table 1 ppl by the time I was able to get aorund MY table to the line and walk back. And so the line snaked around btw...so while I past Denise Alexander and Leslie first...they were actually LAST in the line of stars...John J. York was first *order: John York, Bergen, Drew, John I., Leslie, Denise...NOTE: Peter Hansen...ate and ran *...so the line was a sideways U with the open end being the near Leslie and Denise.
When I was right in front of Denise's table *still at END of line though*...I saw her get on her phone...and her body language changed...and I told the folks behind me, "Denise is finna leave y'all."...and a collective groan could be heard cuz we all wanted to meet her, esp me who was the newbie of all of them...and so when she got up...I said, "Denise!" and she turned aorund and explained she had a date...with her hubby...and we were like "OH, we understand that go do yo thang girl"...BUT...I then said, "can we get a pic of you?" and she said, "SURE!"...and stood there for us to click away...and then I asked, "Can I get a hug before you leave, I've been a fan of yours since diapers basically." And she gave me a hug and I asked her if she would get her mail if I sent wrote to her. And she said yes that it might take a while because she's not there much, but they do forward it to her and yes to please write. And I promised her I would. I like Denise, always did. Lesley Webber ROCKS! It's a SHAME she's not on more...AT LEAST consulting in GH...if Dorian can get HER license back after like 30 years...Lesley Webber should be able to AT LEAST consult in the hospital....and SHOULD have been able to help run the clinic grandson Nik opened up.
FINALLY the line made it to the stars...and John York saw me and was like, "LaShawn! So how have you liked your first Fan Weekend?" And I told him how it had gone, and how much fun I was having. And then we began to chat seriously about the show and I explained some of my thoughts and ideas about what was going on and what NEEDED to happen...and he said that's how pretty much EVERYBODY on staff at GH felt...as far as cast goes*...and I told him there is NO way Mac shouldn't have more s/l and a lady in his life...I said there are at least three available women on GH *four if you count Bobbie*...I said they need to PICK ONE and give you a girlfriend...I then said ONE of them is in the room right now. John smiled and said he knows and he agrees...it's been like 8 years. We talked for a WHILE...cuz the like slowed up for a minute *up there by Leslie I'm sure*...I took another piccy with him...John York is really a NICE man... I hope things get better for him job wise....He signed my pic of him and Leslie *for my auntie who, along with my great Grandmother, is the main reason I'm such a GH junkie*
Then it was on to Bergen...whom I had the pleasure of meeting the night before at GNO...and she really is another gracious star...she LOVES chatting it up with the fans...had a great time talking to her Sat. nite and Sun. She enjoyed talking about how she lost the weight...*LOTS of exercise and a change in her eating habits is in that plan btw*...another piccy with Bergen...
Then on to young Drew...who I didn't get to meet on Saturday because he got his times mixed up and was late...so as I was heading out to go find the Beverly Garland and kick it for a while, Drew was sitting where Lexi had been sitting earlier and signing autographs...so now it was NICE to meet him...and we rapped for a while as well...I told him that I liked him living with the Qs...and that he has really good chemistry with John, Jane and Leslie...ESP Leslie...I told him I was impressed with that scene in the hospital between him and Leslie and more of that should happen *shame GH doesn't capitalize on GOOD screen chem between its actors*...he stook up to take piccy with me...then he signed my script for me and my program *the program was going to my Grandmother*...as I couldn't find my pic of Leslie and Drew at that moment when I needed it...
Then on to John Ingle...who I dubbed as my adopted granddad...he really did remind me of my Grandfather *who's been gone ten years now*...he also recognized me from Saturday. "Well, hello again. Are you having a good time?" "Yes sir, I am!" I smiled back...we talked a bit...I told him I want to see more...MORE Qs..I miss my Qs I really do. 
FINALLY...FINALLY...I made it to Leslie. By this time I wasn't so nervous anymore as I got a feel of who she is and the vibe felt good. I sat next to her and we chatted while she signed my stuff *pics the program* She saw I won the bid for the script and smiled and I explained to her that I LURVE to write and the script would be very special to me...AND that I actually liked that storyline. *I wished they had let Monica and Alan have one more child actually...just not then...but back in the 80s after they reconciled from the Susan Moore situation*...
I then told her that I had an eppy of "Emergency!" with her in it and explained the ep to her...told her how fiesty she was in it and that I liked her work on episodic television because she was GOOD at it. Again explained how much "Monica" played a part in my ambition as a student and my LURVE for medicine. *I really do LURVE medicine*...I told her that I think it's really great how she works with the chairities esp the mounted troop and that one of my aunts used to ride horses FOR YEARS...so I grew up around them. Leslie liked that I was interested in that...the charities, the horses...and her episodic work....her eyes LIT UP when I talked about that!
We took a piccy...I wish it had been two because the person who took the piccy...well let's just say she should have known better than to take the pic straight on with a mirror behind us*...but the pic still was a NICE one I think.
I thanked Leslie for taking the time to chat with me and having the event in the first place...and I told her I will ALWAYS be a fan...and that it's a CRIME that Monica...MONICA of all ppl...is not featured more prominently on GH.
I stayed behind and watched the "Fan Club"...get all the more pics...I SHOULD have joined in and got my time...but they're kinda "cliquish" actually...and I really didn't WANT to be in a pic with them...JUST Leslie.
And my only problem with this event is...unlike ALL the others...there was NO Q&A time...it was too RUSHED for me...I felt like it happened and it was OVER...and I got the feeling Leslie wasn't too happy with the way things were either....just the vibe I got...I KNOW a lot of the fans who'd been to other Q Brunches and other LEslie events felt that things were amiss this time.
I hung around and chatted more with John Y., Drew and Bergen...cuz the "Fan Club" was all over Leslie anyways. And so I waved my goodbyes to Leslie and John I, and then I walked out with Bergen since she was leaving and...
since JETLAG IS A BITCH...
and I needed to go to my room at this point.
I was spent...REALLY spent...
I was on a high from FINALLY meeting Leslie...who is a VERY sweet lady and dearly loves her fans.
SO I walked Bergen to the front doors...then I trekked back to my room where I FINALLY just allowed myself...mind and body...to REST...
It was Sunday afternoon *around 2PM* by this time...and I had LITERALLY been on the go since Friday Morning when I got up to catch my flight out there...So...I was in NEED of REAL REST...
Part of me was a little sad...as Leslie's event marked the END of MY Fan Weekend...I was done with events...
So I slept for like three hours...GOOD SLEEP at that...I was TIRED...and NEEDED to SLEEP.
When I awakened it was about 5:30...and I was hungry and ready to get out and enjoy the rest of my day....
SOOO...I freshened up...changed into some kick it clothes...and in the PT I went...it was comfortable by this time...so I dropped the top...FINALLY!!! *the only other time I dropped it was when I first got it...and drove up to Van Nuys..on the 405...in the hot 3 o'clock sun LOL!!!*
Kicked it throughout the Valley..in serch of FOOD...SUSHI to be exact...I HAD to have it...and I knew that Ventura Blvd had PLENTY of it....
Went into Encino first...but that place was closed...went into a boutique for suggestions...ended spending $$$...DAYUM.
ON to Sherman Oaks...where I DID find a nice Sushi bar...parked the PT...went inside...had a GREAT sushi dinner...while I talked to Kellye and dished ALL to her.
WHen I left the Sushi place...it was around dusk...top still dropped...I'm still rollin...jazz goin'...vibe was fab...I LURVE L.A. I REALLY do...
Now I'm not on a time limit...so I'm takin in all the scenes...the hoods...the burbs...the geography...had camera but driving so couldn't really get shots...and too late to pull over...by myself...not good...I know that...I'm from CLEVELAND...so I knew better...but I enjoyed the vibe...and took LOTS of mental notes...they will definitely help me with my wiritng...esp my Police Woman stories *since it takes place in L.A.*...
When I finally made it back to the hotel...it was after 8...and the kids' event had ended...I saw Lexi and she recognized me from Nancy's event...asked me how I was doing and asked about the rest of my weekend...then said she had to go cuz she needed to go over her lines...she was working on Monday. I told her farewell as I was leaving the hotel in the morning and heading up to Lancaster to my sister's.
I went to the bar...ordered some juice...and went out to the pool area with my notebook and phone of course...
Sat by the pool...watched the planes take off from the private airstrip behind us...it was such a confy night...some adults were swimming...some where at tables chatting about the weekend's events...and gossip they heard.
I relaxed and let the vibe take me...began writing on this story i had begun before my trip began...phone rang...it was my Gram...and I told her about my meeting Leslie....then after a while I went up to my room...My best friend called from Chicago...we rapped a WHILE...which was good...because by the time we got off the phone...it was late enough to attempt to sleep...
And I must say...even with the nap earlier...I was BUSHED still...
Still Spent...still High from the excitement of meeting ppl I never really thought I'd meet...a little melancholy as it was OVER...but CONTENT indeed.
Monday Morning...Up and adam...gotta get it up to Lancaster while traffic was good...
I checked out during Rick's event....wanted to meet him...but $$ wasn't on it...so oh well...he had a DECENT turnout...I DO know that....LOTS of folks went to Rick's event to say goodbye I assume.
Checked out...and on to Lancaster...the hot...HOT desert!
*At first I was like, "why are we one of the first tables...but being called LAST?" *tables 1-3...3, 2, 1... actually...called last*...but more importantly...WHY didn't they have the folks who needed to leave for the Scrubs event... go first?...Like Nancy did for those who needed to leave for Megan's event and GNO the night before.
Another thing about this event that kinda didn't sit right...blaming the organization of the Fan Club...NOT Leslie....because others at the table wondered the same thing...and then went on to say that this was not THE BEST Brunch...that the organization seemed odd to them as well. So, I decided NOT to be all crazy about being almost LAST...and looked at it differently...last ones get to stay LONGER...and mingle longer...and it was true...I was at the END of the line basically...as I ended up with the table 1 ppl by the time I was able to get aorund MY table to the line and walk back. And so the line snaked around btw...so while I past Denise Alexander and Leslie first...they were actually LAST in the line of stars...John J. York was first *order: John York, Bergen, Drew, John I., Leslie, Denise...NOTE: Peter Hansen...ate and ran

It sounds like so much fun! I wish I could go to an event sometime but I know I wouldn't be able to go alone and I don't have any friends that watch GH.

Glad you all enjoyed the story...
Once I got up to Lancaster...not much to tell...My sis was off on monday but her girl was not...so me and my sister kicked it BACk to L.A. where it was MUCH cooler Monday till later in the evening...she worked Tuesday so the only thing I did was pack up things I didn't need like dirty clothes and clothes I wasn't going to wear...and my goodies from the events...and shipped them home...stayed in watched telly and used her laptop ALL day...
Wednesday was the day we trekked it down to Venice Beach and Thursday I flew home.
btw...I made that trip BY MYSELF...had I not stayed with my sister after Fan Weekend I would have just been out there by myself...had I not known ppl who lived in L.A. like my friend Michael...I still would have kicked in in L.A. by myself...that's how much I wanted to go to Fan Weekend...so don't let that stop you...if you can spring it...go next time...it's WORTH it.
