'General Hospital' Spoilers

This week, General Hospital fans can expect Robin’s (Kimberly McCullough) condition to worsen while Sam (Kelly Monaco) continues to put herself on the line to help Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). But before we move on to the spoilers, here’s a quick recap of what happened last time we saw General Hospital: Jax’s (Ingo Rademacher) world came crashing down when he saw the DVD Jerry sent him. In attempt to save Spinelli from being doomed to prison, Jason (Steve Burton) decided to do Rayner’s (Mark Pinter) bidding and wear a wire to Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) mob party, where Ric (Rick Hearst) revealed that he knows Claudia’s (Sarah Brown) secret. Moreover, Patrick (Jason Thompson) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) forced Mac (John J. York) to accept the truth about Robin.

Monday

After Mac tells Patrick where to find Robin, who makes a bold move after going to the movies with Brad by kissing him, Patrick gets an eyeful when he finally tracks down Robin. Meanwhile, Ric continues to have a grip on Claudia.

Tuesday

The drama continues as Robin finally admits that she has a problem. Tuesday also finds Sam coming through for Spinelli when she successfully destroys all the evidence against him while Jax contemplates on whether or not to tell Carly what he has discovered.

Wednesday

Ric blackmails Claudia to do his bidding so Claudia attempts to convince Sonny to give Ric a higher position in the organization in an effort to keep him quiet about Michael's shooting. At the same time, Patrick continues to be frustrated by Robin’s behavior, and Nikolas and Lucky spar over Rebecca.

Thursday

Johnny tells Sonny he’ll do anything to protect Claudia as Ric tries to win Sonny’s trust. Jax, on the other hand, shares his problem to Olivia.

Friday

Nikolas and Monica are concerned for Rebecca when she receives alarming news after her ultrasound while Patrick tells Robin he knows she’s keeping secrets. And as the week comes to a suspenseful conclusion, Sonny comes into Claudia's room only to find a passed out Ric in her bed.

SOW: No Pain, No Gain/Hennesy Goes To Cougar Town

They note Claire Coffee getting a role in a pilot called This Might Hurt about a middle-aged pediatrician clashing with his internist son.

Carolyn Hennesy has booked Courtney Cox Arquette's new pilot, Cougartown. Her character is a conservative real estate agent by day and a "cool" cougar by night. Cox is a divorced woman with a 17 year old son. It's a comedy being produced by the creative team behind Scrubs (the sitcom).


SOW: Revolving Door

Emma Samms is back in May. Her visit will be tied to newbie Ethan. Speculation is she's his mother and Luke or Robert may be his father. Though Tristan noted on his website, in February, that he nothing of this involving Robert.

Recast! Drew Garrett steps into the role of Michael Corinthos III. He first airs April 24

GH Bloodbath? Rumors persist that there are huge cast cuts at GH, including MW and RH being fired and GV/BH being put on recurring. A GH spokesperson dismissed the talk as completely untrue.


SOW: Buzz

It's A Spin-Win Situation

Senta Moses says they put Spin/Win in as much danger as they can. It's fun to see these characters be in as much danger as they can be in and it's really not going to get much worse than breaking into rooms at the FBI. For the audience, it's more exciting to see us doing that in a dangerous place, as opposed to sitting in Maxie's apartment, typing on the computer.

Winnifred is very exciting about working side by side with Spin. There's an adrenaline rush to watching him work, as with any time you see someone in their element, it makes them more attractive. It's also a huge relief that Winnifred is able to help, to be able to relieve her conscience.


SOW: The List

Mercy Hospital is doing such an exemplary job of handling GH's patient load that we've seen nary a sick soul anywhere.


SOW: Winners & Losers

Winners:

Claudia. Sonny saved her life, and Kate didn't bust her!

Losers:

Robin. She claimed that being a working mother is better than being a stay-at-home mom.

SOW: Rebecca's Health Crisis

NL says Rebecca has a physical and they discover a lump, then she has an ultrasound and they feel the need to do a biopsy. It convinces Nik and the Q's even more that there's some connection to Emily.

At the start of the week, things are tense in another sense. NL says Lucky and Rebecca are flirting and having a good time. Nik walks in and gets very jealous and upset and there's a confrontation. Rebecca is surprised it's happening at the hospital, but she expected it on some level.

The boys separate, after levelheadedness prevails, with Nik sticking around for some hospital business. He just happens to be there and overhear the radiologist talking about a mammogram. It's not something Rebecca tells him or would want to tell him about. She's not even aware that he's there when she gets the news. She's just trying to get through the tests and the results.

She's already gearing up for the worst while she waits for the results, which is the hardest part.

Nik agrees to wait with her because she doesn't want to be alone, so she asks him to wait with her. When the radiologist comes out, she nervously takes Nik's hand for support.

Naturally the prospect of a bioposy holds bad memories for Nik. He had mentioned Emily's cancer to Rebecca before, so she's aware of it and is sensitive to that. It definitely reminds him of what he had to go through with Emily but he's just trying to be supportive of Rebecca.

And she is going to need all the support she can get.

Letter imploring GH to use Rick Hearst more and how they should write a story worthy of his two Emmy wins and five nominations.

SOW: U Said It To Us

What has happened to GH? The once great daytime drama has become such a dark and dreary show. I don't recognize it anymore. The characters and stories are flat and tiresome. Where are all the families that were once the main focus? Where are all the stories focused around the hospital? Where is the love? I fail to understand why GH continuously brings on new characters when the show has phenomenal and talented veteran actors portraying characters who haven't even begun to show their true colors.

When I think of the waste of talent, such stellar actors as Nancy Lee Grahn, John J. York, Finola Hughes and Rick Hearst, to name a few, I wonder how anyone watching this drivel disguised as a daytime drama hasn't change the channel by now. GH has become nothing more than a cheap rip-off of shows like The Sopranos. Mob bosses, violence and dark overtones are thrust down our throats, sucking the air out until we can longer breathe.

It would seem to me that the show would benefit by bringing back some of the spectacular storytelling, writing and acting of the past. Please bring back GH, once the greatest soap opera ever! Please spotlight some of the phenomenal actors that graced the screen every day and made me believe in their characters, root for them, hate them, laugh and cry with them, and above all, fall in love with them. - Sue Demers.

Soaps.com reporter/writer Julie Clark Robinson sought to differentiate soap newcomer Nathan Parsons from his GH alter-ego, Ethan Lovett, in a fun questionnaire. From the look of it, Parsons and Lovett are much the same in that they both enjoy a bit of adventure and love animals. Their differences are vast, however. One’s a con and the other’s a struggling actor no more. There is one particular trait in Lovett that Parsons covets, and that is his bartending skill.

It’s true. Constance Towers returns as villainess Helena Cassadine, April 13, when it is revealed that she’s behind the computer system meltdown juxtaposed with a grand opening of a renovated GH. Helena intends to ruin Nikolas’, Alexis’ and Luke’s lives. While Helena is a computer wizard, her portrayer can “barely send an e-mail.” Towers is also far from being a villainess, she’s so extraordinarily nice. She’s also so extraordinarily busy with outside projects, like Cold Case (March 29th) and The Awakening of Spring (July 31st). Senta Moses (Winifred) explained the reason for her character’s braided look as TPTB’s idea, in keeping with the quirkiness of her FBI agent-turned-renegade character. They were considering the idea of putting Moses in an FBI suit once her role in Spinelli’s arrest came out, but after about a day, they went back to her usual, grunge style and kept the braids. She also thought Winifred might be too preoccupied with her career and her love of computer hacking to bother with a more feminine hairdo. But, she added, you never know what falling in love might do. Moses believed her and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) characters would engage in more action-adventures of the sort the audience just witnessed wrapping up last week. She gathered that TPTB preferred to put the two computer geeks in stories where they can thrive yet are forced to deal with a little bit of the dangerous element, such as sneaking into Rayner’s FBI office to infiltrate his laptop. That’s a lot more intriguing for the viewers, Moses mused, than watching them play on the computer in Maxie’s apartment. Watching Spinelli do his thing, Moses added, must be quite the turn-on for Winifred.
When it came time for Robin to soothe baby Emma – after the snowstorm – at Mercy Hospital, TPTB called for Kimberly McCullough to go through the “Rock-a-bye Baby” lullaby. That is, until McCullough reminded them that a line in that lullaby speaks to “in the treetops,” which is where Robin placed Emma while trying to find her way out of a snowstorm to GH. So, she only had to hum the tune. Following Robin’s admission of PPD, her portrayer is going off-canvas for awhile, to accommodate a three-week vacation.
After unsuccessfully auditioning for any role on FOX-TV’s hit nighttime series, 24, Sebastian Roche (Jerry) finally made it as an efficient hitman named John Quinn… only to receive the death penalty last week. Roche is said to return to GH, April 15

DC staffers heard it through the soapvine that former Days of Our Lives actress Rachel Melvin recently read for a part at General Hospital. Could she possibly be Sonny's soon-to-be SORASed daughter Kristina? Another possibility, would be Melvin doing to a temp gig as a young Claudia? Spoilers indicate the soap will be flashing back to Claw's childhood.

"I can't comment on that," says an insider.

We also hear, Greg Vaughan recently met with the people over at Days of Our Lives for a part, which didn't make Fronsie too happy! Developing

"General Hospital" April Preview

If you're a "General Hospital" fan, April is pretty well packed with things you have GOT to see. Bombs, babies, secret children, scars, love triangles, love QUADrangles, interventions, and the return of some major baddies.

Who's most in danger of the April showers drowning her? How about Claudia Zacchara, who is furiously trying to get pregnant with Sonny's baby AND keep more people from finding out that she was the one behind Michael's shooting? Step 1 ("Get Rid of Ric") was kind of a bust when she poisoned him before realizing that was a bad idea (i.e. he dies, the DVD goes to the cops). Johnny and Maxie lug him to the hospital, so no worries for Ric fans -- he's not dying. Maybe she should've just let him croak, though, because once he's back in the land of the living, Ric makes more trouble for Claudia. Big time.

She better start lighting some votive candles, though, because this month someone finally tells Sonny that Claudia is responsible for the shooting. Could it be the return of Jerry and his big mouth? Wait until you see how far Claudia goes to shut him up for good ... but you might be more shocked to see who gets caught in the cross-fire.
Carly, meanwhile, continues to struggle with decisions about an experimental treatment for Michael. She's quite stressed, which could probably account for all the fainting and stair-falling she does this month. The good news is that she'll soon be able to look at the blue-eyed face of her son, since Drew Garrett debuts as new Michael on April 24th. The Michael situation isn't the only life or death decision she'll struggle with. She's got some big decisions of her own to make, and one of them involves a secret she's keeping from Jax.

The relationship between Nikolas and Rebecca gets more intense and FAR more complicated as April rolls along. He's there for her while she awaits her biopsy results as everyone wonders if the breast cancer scare could be proof that she's related to Emily. Things get intense; we'll just say that there's only so long that two incredibly attractive people can stand that close to each other all the time before they start making out ... And we'll leave it at that. Of course, that's not nearly all there is to it; Rebecca and Lucky are still happening, causing no end of frustration for Nik -- and Liz too. Look for the love quadrangle among these four to get more tangled than you can imagine. And that's not even counting the return of ... hold up, this needs its own paragraph.

The RETURN of Helena Cassadine! Yes, the unholy matriarch blows into town this month and immediately starts winning friends and influencing people. Well, OK, she's totally not winning friends. Influence, however, is more up her alley. Alexis is immediately suspicious of her old Step-Monster, and wonders specifically about a possible connection with Rebecca. Hmmm ... Will her suspicions rub off on Nikolas?

Meanwhile, Robin survives her trip to the chilly depths of P.C. Harbor ("What?," you ask? Tune in later this week and you'll see what we mean.) only to see her relationship with Patrick continue to struggle under the weight of her post-partum depression. The tension continues this month -- and it's not helped by Robin and Patrick turning to Jason and Liz, respectively, for support.

Another character WE'D like to give an intervention to is Maxie (we already kind of did, in fact) -- and the situation with her, Johnny, and Lulu absolutely blows up this month. Lulu's angling to get Johnny replaced on the Crimson gig -- by Matt, no less -- and both Johnny (who could use the weekly thousand bucks) and Maxie (who doesn't like Matt) are pissed. Plus, Lulu is hanging around Ethan more, doing all these one-up scams and what not. Johnny's pissed enough that he and Lulu have it out -- and the fallout from this series of events is intense. Left in the rubble is Maxie, and things are not going her way. How far will she go to get things back on track? Considering this is Maxie, we don't think it's giving anything away when we say: pretty far.

Now that he's been killed off of "24," Sebastian Roche is free to return to "GH" as presumed-dead Jerry Jacks. Surely this means trouble for Claudia and her Secret That Almost Everyone Knows, but it probably means no shortage of angst for Alexis, Jax, Carly, Sonny, Johnny, and Sam, and Jason too. Jerry claws his way out from the bottom of the harbor (... we assume) on April 15th.

Emma Samms returns as Holly Sutton Scorpio in May. Holly was last seen getting busted for profiteering off of the encephalitis outbreak. [STORY]

GH Sneak Peek







For the week of 4/6:
Ric tells Sonny Claudia's secret! To save Michael, Carly and Sonny have to risk his life.


With Jason on the case, trying to find out who put Ian Devlin up to the hit, Ric finds himself as the prime suspect. But if Ric knows anything, it's how to survive. So when Jason and Sonny back him into a corner over the accusation, he comes out swinging -- and says Devlin was working for Claudia! Now that Sonny's heard the truth, what is he going to do? Meanwhile, Claudia continues to try to get pregnant with Sonny's child, mostly so he doesn't have reason to kill her (have you noticed the reasoning in Port Charles is really unique?).

Elsewhere, Robin survives her plunge into the frigid waters of the Port Charles harbor -- but after she continues to resist treatment, her marriage to Patrick might not be so lucky. It doesn't help that Robin keeps turning to Jason for support while Patrick is leaning on Elizabeth.

Carly and Sonny have a tough decision to make: They're holding out hope for Michael, but the latest surgery has a high mortality rate. Should they risk their son's life in the hopes he will recover? As if this wasn't enough, Carly picks up the phone ... and Jerry's on the other end! Yep, Jerry Jax is alive ... which only means trouble.[break] As for the Crimson gang, a jealous Lulu maneuvers for Matt to replace Johnny as Maxie's escort of choice. This is good news for Matt, who is still flirting like crazy with Maxie, but Maxie isn't amused. Neither is Johnny, now that his weekly paycheck has been yanked away. Johnny and Lulu have a huge fight about it, and by the end of the week, truths are revealed and there's a game-changing kiss on the docks. And Spinelli, of course, is right in the middle of everything.

All this, PLUS: Nikolas and Rebecca get romantic -- much to his siblings' disapproval, and Tracy begins to suspect that Ethan has some kind of connection to Luke. As in, Luke is his dad. And across town, we see Lulu getting closer (and we don't mean in a "friendship" way) with Ethan ... her brother?

There's always a possibility

For Claudia and Carly, the results are in! BOTH their pregnancy tests come up positive -- which is great news for Claudia (now Sonny can't kill her!) but less so for Carly (that medical condition she has could kill her!). Now Claudia must convince Sonny that she didn't get pregnant in order to manipulate his loyalty. Which, of course, she did. But she'll try to deflect suspicion by making it look like an unwanted pregnancy. Good idea? As for Carly, she's determined to have her baby despite the health risks involved. Look for more dizzy spells in Carly's future as the pregnancy looks more and more foreboding.

Jerry Jacks keeps making waves now that he's back in Port Charles. Jax wants nothing to do with him, Alexis is freaked out to see him alive, and pretty much everyone else -- especially Claudia -- wants him dead. SO dead that she'd set up a bomb to take him out. But will her victim be who she intends? Answer: no. Poor, poor Jason.

On the Cassadine front, Alexis has convinced Nikolas that Rebecca might be in league with Helena. When Rebecca gets wind of this, she reacts the way anyone would; she punches Alexis's lights out. Meanwhile, we find out what's up with the painting Helena is obsessed with. It has something to do with a document attached to the back of it ...

All this, PLUS: Maxie tries to seduce Spinelli -- without much success; Ethan tries to pick Helena's pocketbook -- with even less success; Tracy's out for blood when it comes to Ethan - and Holly Sutton; and Patrick and Robin bond over couples therapy and emergency surgery. All is temporarily well for the Scorpio-Drakes ... until a heart-stopping accident at the end of the week. Don't miss it!

Patrick and Robin's problems disappear for a moment when they work in tandem to save their patient on Tuesday, April 21. Things soon turn sour, when the newlyweds return home and Robin can't bring herself to soothe a fussy Emma. Rebecca wants Nikolas to stay away from her. Luke is taken aback when Helena tells him that she's certain Ethan is his son. Helena leaves town after getting what she came for. Maxie is desperate to get Spinelli back in her life. The Inside Story: The Stork Report

Carly's joy about her pregnancy is tempered when she remembers her discussion with Kelly. Jason gives Carly a shoulder to lean on. Carly comes to the decision not to tell Jax about the pregnancy until after she's tested for the life threatening condition. Those plans go out the window when Jax suddenly arrives home and sees the pregnancy test stick. Carly doesn't have the heart to tell a thrilled Jax about the risks she may face if she goes through with the pregnancy. Jax confides in Alexis, telling her the good news about Carly and the bad news about Jerry. Carly undergoes the tests to determine whether or not she's at risk of developing the dangerous condition. Jason confronts Jax with the truth about Jerry. Jax implores Jason to keep the news from Carly so not to stress her out. Kelly gives Carly heartbreaking news on Thursday, April 23. Carly refuses to entertain the idea of terminating her pregnancy. Jerry feigns unconscious while Jax lashes out at him at the site of the explosion. Carly collapses when she learns about the injuries Jason sustained.

Claudia too learns that she's with child on Monday, April 20. The molls’ relief is short-lived when her brother warns her that Sonny could easily deduce that she got pregnant because she is culpable in Michael's shooting. Thinking on her feet, Claudia leads Sonny to believe she's making arrangements to terminate an unwanted pregnancy. Sonny tells Claudia he doesn't want her to terminate her pregnancy. A stunned Alexis comes face to face with Jerry after walking into Sonny's place on Wednesday, April 22. Sonny tells Jason and later Carly about Claudia's pregnancy. Jason and Sam become more suspicious of Claudia's role in Michael's shooting. Claudia orders a hit on Jerry after overhearing him and Alexis. Jason tracks Jerry down thanks to Spinelli but the situation takes an explosive turn thanks to Claudia's order. Ric realizes Claudia is pregnant and implies to a nervous Claudia that the child could be his. Jerry and Jason are both injured in the explosion but Jason is in far worse shape.

A Closer Look - Patrick

Patrick and Robin get their groove back in the operating room, but their home life is still out of sync. JT explains why they cannot get in tune.

SOW notes that Scrubs rediscover some of their old magic while performing surgery.

JT says that Patrick makes the suggestion that surgery should be put off but Robin says it has to happen now. They perform the surgery and find out that if they had waited, the patient wouldn't have made it. Basically, he listens to her, which is the right move. Patrick feels like she's getting the hang of things again, she's working, taking her medication and going to therapy and seemingly doing all the right things. But it turns out she was just faking it all along.

SOW asks if there's still trouble on the homefront.

JT says they pick up some Chinese food and go home to celebrate. Emma starts to whine and Robin can't handle it. She's still really uncomfortable with Emma. Patrick tells her it's okay, take your time. As much as he thought that she was turning the corner, it's just not the case. It's pretty obvious that she isn't where Patrick thinks she should be or where she thinks she should be. It's definitely starting to wear on them. He thought there might be a glimmer of hope after the surgery and working together but she's definitely not where she should be.

SOW notes that Patrick gets a glimpse of how far away she is, when he runs into Dr. Brown.

JT says that Patrick is at GH and Dr. Brown mentions that her phone system was down, and Robin should reschedule the appointment she missed, so give her a call. He goes home, knowing that she didn't go to therapy. Robin lies to him, telling him it was the best session she ever had, that it was somewhat of a breakthrough - not knowing that Patrick knows she didn't show up. It's another one of those cases where she's lying straight to his face and he calls her on it.

SOW asks if it gets ugly.

JT says that Patrick is mad at her for lying and not taking it seriously and she's mad at him for keeping tabs on her and not trusting her. But in Patrick's eyes, it isn't the first time she's lied to him, she's given him every excuse not to trust her.

SOW asks how he and KMc handle playing such somber material for so long.

JT says it's been a hard story but moreso on Kimberly, because she's carrying the brunt of the emotional heaviness. KMc is great with kids and love having them around so it's hard for to play the opposite. She takes her job seriously, they all do. It's emotionally taxing. It can be hard to leave it at work, sometimes, when you're crying and yelling all day. But they've both really enjoyed it.

SOW notes that Patrick finally offers to accompany Robin to therapy.

JT says that he tells her he wants to see what's happening when I'm not 'judging' you, when we have a mediator. It's somewhat of a breakthrough for both of them. He really wants to show her that he's willing to do whatever he needs to do.

SOW asks if the joint session works.

JT says they're in a decent place. They says things they probably wouldn't normally say. Patrick says some thing that aren't easy - I know it wasn't easy to say them. But it's one of those things that need to be said.

SOW says they're not out of the woods yet as Robin once against accidentally endangers Emma. What happens?

JT says she's talking to Kelly at GH and accidentally hits the stroller and it rolls down some stairs with Emma in it!


Carly Is Pregnant!

IR says that Jax has kind of put the idea of having a baby out of his head because he didn't really think there was any chance it would ever happen. This is a really big deal!

Carly is upstairs when Jax gets home and sees the pregnancy test on the table as he's putting his keys down. When she comes downstairs he asks her if that's what he thinks it is and she confirms it.
At first he's a bit confused because her chances for getting pregnant were pretty slim. It takes some time for it to sink in. IR says it's a happy moment when he finally says 'Is this happening" and she says, 'Yes, it is.'

Carly doesn't want to spoil his happiness so she doesn't mention that she has a medical condition that could reduce the chances of a successful pregnancy to 50/50.

Nevertheless, the real world rears its ugly head anyway when Jax confides the truth about Jerry to Alexis. IR says that Jax is angry with Jerry and also to the point where he's written him off. He tells Alexis everything and she's disappointed in Jerry as well. However, Alexis agrees to keep Jerry's culpability in Michael's shooting a secret for Carly's sake.

Jason, on the other hand, wants the truth exposed. IR says that Jason's thing is revenge. Jax isn't the vengeful type of guy, he's more let it go, leave it alone and get on with your life. But Jason tries to persuade Jax to give Jerry up. Jax doesn't know where Jerry is and he doesn't care.

Jason does, however and tracks Jerry down. They both get caught in an explosion meant for Jerry and land in the hospital where Jax visits Jerry. IR says he's not very happy with him and Jax finally adopts a kill him if you must, but don't tell me about it, attitude. At this point, he just wants Jerry to go away.

And that he does, when Jerry mysteriously disappears. IR says that an investigation wouldn't have benefited Carly's pregnancy. He tells Alexis it's the best thing that could have happened.

Not so fast, the explosion claims a third victim - Carly! She faints when she finds out that Jason was badly hurt.
