So what's happening on "General Hospital" in the month of September? Oh, you know. Nothing special. Only a CARNIVAL OF DEATH! What does it all mean? Who's in danger? Why is that carousel horse crying a bloody tear in the promo commercials? We'll answer all (except that last one), just read on ...

So, for real, though, the Port Charles carnival is the setting for a thrilling series of events that all start when Andrea Floyd realizes that Edward Quartermaine can place her at the scene of Brianna Hughes's murder. So Edward's got to go! But when Andrea drugs him, it leads to him plowing through the carnival in his car. Name a character you love, and we'll tell you they're at the carnival, and their lives are in danger.

In the aftermath of the carnival disaster, characters are brought closer together -- Jason and Sam (yay!) and Liz and Nikolas (umm ...) -- and secrets might be exposed. What could happen that would motivate Olivia to spill the secret she's kept for over twenty years (i.e. that her son Dante is actually Sonny's ... and a cop ... and goes by Dominic now)? Gotta tune in.

Back to Liz and Nikolas, though, the pairing may be awkward (he's Lucky's brother! She's like a sister to him!), but it's undeniable that they're crazy attracted to one another. Look for that to continue, and for them to find it harder and harder to stay apart. And then there's poor Lucky, blissfully ignorant. For now. By the end of the month, his and Elizabeth's relationship reaches a major turning point.

Once Michael gets back to Port Charles (from his summer on the beach in Cancun -- let's all feel sorry for him, okay?), he starts to deal with the flashes of memory he keeps getting from back in his coma days. Remember, back when Claudia, Jax, pretty much anyone with a burdened conscience came to his bedside to apologize for how things turned out. Well it's all coming back to Michael now. Will he finally remember Claudia confessing to getting him shot? You know, memories are a tricky thing -- we don't always recall things exactly as they happened.

Look for Spinelli and Maxie to go full speed ahead with their engagement, despite the fact that Maxie is totally petrified of getting married. We can tell you that their wedding does happen by month's end. As for whether they go through with the "I do" part ... well, flip a coin. Either way, Jason's going to be a completely adorable best man. (P.S. Any takers on whether Jason will show up wearing a tight-fitting tuxedo t-shirt?)

And don't think the Carnival of Death is the only danger waiting down the road for Port Charles. Anthony Zacchara is back and up to his old mischief. And by "mischief" we definitely mean "violent attacks on Sonny and anyone connected to him." As is usually the case, two unintended targets will get caught in the crossfire. One ends up on death's door.

All this, plus Kristina falls deeper into her abusive relationship with Kiefer, Claudia wants another baby (always a safe bet when you're Mrs. Sonny Corinthos!), and don't forget: Anthony Geary and Constance towers return as Luke and Helena on September 30th! What a way to end the month, huh?

Boy, do they know how to throw a carnival in Port Charles. Rides, games, cotton candy … cataclysmic event. With all the city's residents in the same place, it doesn't take much to put everyone we care about in danger.

So when Andrea drugs Edward Quartermaine to keep him from incriminating her in the Hughes murder, and Edward goes into cardiac arrest on the road and plows through the carnival, countless characters are in dire peril. As in, death occurs and a hell of a lot more people get injured (you know, rides collapsing, people getting hit … the works).

The one good thing (if you could call it that) that develops from the carnival disaster is that Jason and Sam are drawn closer together, as are Elizabeth and Nikolas. Yes, Nikolas and Elizabeth. It's time for another kiss between the two, who can't resist each other despite themselves. But did we mention someone witnesses? Think it's Lucky?

Don't expect the Corinthos family to leave the carnival unscathed. When encountering life or death situations, people tend to want to reveal the whole truth. And after the carnival disaster, Olivia may have to blow the Dominic/Sonny father/son secret -- because someone's life may depend on it. And then there's the whole drama with Kristina ... well, we're getting ahead of ourselves. You'll have to watch.

And that's just the beginning. Characters going missing, characters being injured, characters being thrown together! It's a huge week on "GH" -- so don't expect everyone to make it out alive.

GH Spoilers: Week of September 7

TRAGEDY STRIKES THE CARNIVAL

While enjoying the carnival, Jason and Sam begin to re-connect with each other. Sonny and Olivia run into each other and reminisce about their time at the amusement park on Coney Island. Nikolas clashes with Ethan and push each others buttons. Nikolas challenges Ethan to tell Rebecca that he's only out for revenge and nothing more.

Terror strikes the carnival as a drugged Edward suffers a heart attack while driving his car. The car crashes through the carnival leaving destruction in its wake. Elizabeth, Lucky and Jason search feverishly for Jake, who is missing; they find the child and he's unconscious. Jason asks Sam to stay with him while they all wait to hear about Jake's condition.

While Max lays unconscious, Diane reveals her true feelings for him. Alexis learns Kristina is among those who are still missing. Lucky and Elizabeth receive word about Jake's condition. Nikolas is there and reaches out to Elizabeth. Jason sees Nikolas and Elizabeth sharing a passionate kiss and is concerned. Kristina is discovered in the carnival wreckage by Michael. Diane hears good news about Max, but Max confides in Milo that he cannot feel anything 'down there'. Edward is devastated to hear he is to blame for the accident.
SECRETS MUST BE EXPOSED

After Dominic is injured saving Morgan at the carnival, Olivia has to face the fact she may have to reveal her secret to save her son's life. Olivia learns Dominic may need an organ transplant and struggles with telling Sonny the truth. Olivia talks privately with Dominic about telling Sonny and Patrick overhears her secret. Later, Patrick tells Olivia he knows Dominic is Sonny's son. Claudia interrupts just as Olivia is about to tell Sonny her secret.
ELSEWHERE IN PORT CHARLES

Anthony puts his son in danger when he orders his men to start their reign of violence against Sonny. Johnny is severely wounded when he saves Spinelli from gunfire. Edward admits to Robin it was Andrea who murdered Brianna. Andrea mission is accomplished as she succeeds in drugging Edward. Michael remembers Claudia apologizing to him after he was shot. Sam and Jason have a heart to heart talk. Elizabeth tells Nikolas they cannot act on the feelings they have for each other. Lucky has a surprise for Elizabeth. Kristina is being manipulated by Keifer.

CarJax go to the fortune tell expecting a fun time. Instead she has a warning for Jax: by trying to protect Carly, he could put her in peril.

elsewhere Sonny is not thrilled at Dominics lackluster babysitting duties. But, then Edwards come comes rolling thru and Dominic makes a desperate attempt to save Morgan.

Dominic is rushed to the hospital & may need a kidney transplant. Olivia goes into panic mode.

Dominic doesn't want his cover blown & tells his mommy to chill. Patrick overhears the 2 mental midgets and figures out Dante is Sonny & Olivia's son & nearly blurts it out in Sonny's presense.

Botoxivia begs Patrick to keep it a secret & promises she'll tell if health issues make it necessary.

Meanwhile another of Sonny's spawns...Kristina is rushed the hospital after she's rescued by her "sorta-brother- Michael" after a rumble.

And then Michael has a flashback of somehthing Jax said which shines a new light on his shooting.

With secrets filling the corridors in the carnivals wake, now long until they come bursting to the surface?

Alexis's love life made her a murder suspect, she's out of job and her teenage daughter is dating a bully.

Can it get any worse? Unfortunately. ..yes. Molly & Kristina are in danger at the carnival & Alexis almost loses both her daughters. Worse yet, one of the girls is facing a more subtle threat.

"The thing is ALexis is so resiliant & so strong" says Guza. "She's been driven to the abyss & claws her way back. SHe will again this time.

Her biggest issue is raising a teenage daugther "For whatever reason Alexis can't see Kristina for who she really is"

"She's a very troubled teen & she's going through some realistic teen issues including discovering her sexuality"

Alexis losing her job may present some interesting challenges, especially where her friendship with Diane comes in.

"Let's just say the 2 either in the same law firm, or oppposing one another will be delicious"

Fans are being pulled in different directions by GH, which seems to be pushing Olivia toward Sonny while keeping her with Johnny. “Even as actors, as we are reading our stuff, we are not sure where they are going, to be quite honest with you,” shrugs LLC, who notes that fans have been very supportive of Jolivia. “Although a lot of people said they like Olivia and Sonny, too. It’s a bit split. There are a lot of Olivia and Johnny lovers.

Sounds like fertile ground for a triangle? “Sure,” muses LLC. “But you don’t want Olivia to look like a complete jerk, like she’s stringing Johnny along when Sonny is really the one she wants – or a complete hypocrite for all the times she’s told Kate to stay away from him,” she points out. “You don’t want to completely wreck the character with hypocrisy, but a good triangle is fun to play!”

Edward's Car Crash Claims Many Victims
Suffering a heart attack after Andrea poisoned his drink, Edward loses control of his car and mows down a throng of innocent victims.

“A tragedy ensues,” shudders John Ingle. “The destruction of parts of the carnival is bad enough, but add the body count to it, and it’s dreadful! Lots of bystanders are hurt as the car careens down there. You will see bodies flying around the car. It’s very scary.”

The unguided vehicle even brings down the Ferris wheel that Claudia and Kristina are riding before coming to a stop. “Edward is unconscious at the wheel,” notes Ingle. “The only thing that moves is his foot, plunging down on the accelerator. He is just totally out of control.”

“The crash takes out three-quarters of the carnival,” adds head writer Bob Guza. “People are doing hood rolls and diving out of the way, pushing people out of the way; tents are collapsing.”

By the time the emergency crews arrive, the survivors have turned hostile. “The crowd is furious that Edward ruined their carnival, and they are – not a lynch mob; that’s a little dramatic – but they are angry,” Ingle explains. “The paramedics lift him up, over their heads, and carry him out.”

Edward does not regain consciousness and learn what happened until later, at the hospital. “Rebecca and Ethan tell him because Monica and Tracy are out of town,” Ingle notes. “Edward says, ‘I hurt so many people,’ and he feels bad about that because it’s a disaster. Lucky is saying that they are cleaning up the carnival and trying to take care of the injured – plural.”

Even though Edward is in the ICU himself, “He is feeling tremendous guilt, even though it wasn’t his fault,” Ingle sighs. “He says, ‘I shouldn’t have been driving but I did, and I was the one who hurt those people.’”

“What’s cool is, Edward immediately goes to the guilty place,” affirms Guza. “Rebecca and Ethan are saying, ‘What could you do? You were poisoned.’ But it is a big deal, John Ingle does wonderfully in the aftermath, dealing with the fact that people very, very close to Edward are in jeopardy.”

Anthony's Hit Wounds Johnny
Anthony uses Sonny’s devotion to Michael as a diversion to strike at the Corinthos organization this week, but the real victim is the elder Zacchara’s own son, Johnny.

“Anthony is back!” warns Guza. “The mob [hit] is not about the carnival. The carnival is about something else, but it makes perfect sense that Anthony would try to take advantage of it.

“From his prison cell, where he is orchestrating all this, Anthony thinks, ‘What better chance to hit Corinthos? It’s a charity carnival for his kid. They are all going to be there; nobody will be minding the store. We’ll be able to take out half the operation,’” Guza explains. “But what Anthony doesn’t count on is that two of Sonny’s people [Johnny and Spinelli] actually *are* minding the store, and they get caught in a massive ambush.”

It’s an attack that sees Anthony’s estranged son cut down in a hail of bullets. “Olivia becomes aware [of Johnny’s fate] while she’s in the hospital with Dante and Sonny,” sighs LLC. “It sounds like he risked his life to save Spinelli, but she doesn’t know any details. She’s tremendously concerned, and couldn’t stand to lose him.”

Olivia can let out some of her emotions about Johnny – but not all, as LLC points out. “Thing about it: There’s still a pretty enormous secret between Johnny and Olivia. No matter what her true feelings are for him, she’s got to keep a pretty big secret from him: that her son is his partner, put there to put him in jail. What the hell do you do with that?”

Will Olivia Expose Dante's Secret - Or Let Him Die?
In the wake of the carnival crash, Olivia must decide if keeping the secret of Dante’s paternity is worth letting her son die.

“Physically, she’s safe; it’s more of an emotional disaster for Olivia,” admits LLC. “It’s her worst nightmare coming true.”

But the carnival starts out more like a daydream. “Olivia and Sonny are sharing a warm moment of remembering their past, the way they often do, and then disaster hits,” LLC sets up. “Everyone springs into action, and it’s mayhem for a while. She doesn’t immediately realize what’s happened to Dante, but pretty soon she does. She can’t really rush to his side the way she normally would and show her concern. She does her best to play it cool, but that’s not really Olivia’s strong suit, playing it cool.”

But that’s exactly the hand Liv is dealt when she gets to the hospital and Patrick lays the cards on the table. “Olivia has to do her best to show as little emotion as possible,” LLC notes (pulling a Tine here... Me: That shouldn’t be hard for LLC), pointing out that she covers by saying, “’Why wouldn’t I be upset by someone who’s hurt?’ She and Sonny do talk in the chapel at the hospital, but even there, she has to go through a lot of machinations with him to keep the true crux of her upset a secret.”

Luckily, there is one sympathetic shoulder available. “Jax knows [her secret], so he’s very supportive,” LLC smiles. “He takes her aside at one point and tells her, ‘Suck it up, or everyone’s going to figure this out.’ He becomes a very, very nice boss.”

And someone does figure it out – but he *did* have a head start. Patrick puts two and two together. “Remember: Patrick knows Olivia has a son with Sonny because of something that Kate blurted out when she was in surgery,” LLC reminds. “He just didn’t know that son is Dante.”

And a lot more people may learn, because Patrick warns that Dante might need a kidney transplant. And Olivia knows a potential donor. “It’s a pretty major dilemma for her: keeping her secret versus saving his life. Olivia has a conversation with God that notes, basically, ‘Either decision puts my son’s life at risk.’”

Which is nothing new. “Olivia has been tempted to tell Sonny on many, many occasions, but ultimately can never go through with it,” LLC stresses. “The secret is just too incendiary, and now... there’s no way to know what the outcome will be. If she tells sonny, then he knows that Dominic is lying about who he is, and then he’s in big, big trouble.

“Sonny is such a wild card that it’s too hard to tell what he might do,” she hedges. “She doesn’t [believe] that Sonny [would give his son] a free pass from Sonny’s wrath. She has to put it in the hands of God. She says ‘I’m looking for a sign. I’m going to put this in your hands.’”

ABC DAYTIME -- GENERAL HOSPITAL will air an encore presentation of the NOVEMBER 20, 2009 episode. -- FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20, 2009 -- GH _-- Sonny and Jason walk into a trap. Elizabeth considers telling Lucky the truth. The mystery man shadowing Jason makes a strange move. Elizabeth comes close to revealing the truth to Lucky. SON PreVue (New 11/21)

Matt and Lisa hit it off on Monday, November 23. Morgan makes sure Jax and Carly are stuck together on Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, Alexis and Mac, and Max and Diane, respectively, also become the target of sets of Thanksgiving cupids. Tradition is alive in Port Charles on Wednesday, November 25, when the Quartermaines, along with most of the Spencer’s enjoy Thanksgiving pizza pies! Lulu picks up on the tension between Luke and Nikolas.

The Inside Story: Who’s That Guy?
One of Franco’s staged crime scene photographs leaves Dominic with a sense of déjà vu. Franco and Maxie get acquainted. On Monday, November 23, an uneasy Jason sees Franco waving goodbye to the camera while going over surveillance footage of the gallery opening. Jason realizes Franco and the homeless vagrant who witnessed the shootout could be one in the same. The hit-man contemplates his next move. Maxie makes a confession to Lulu about her new friend on Wednesday, November 25.

A Closer Look: The Great Fall of Sonny?
Sonny and Dominic persuade Olivia and Lulu, respectively, to be their dates to the gallery opening. Sonny assures an upset Luke that neither he nor Jason went to the meeting he arranged with murder in mind. Olivia reassures Johnny of her feelings after finding him waiting for her when she returns from the opening with Sonny. Johnny agrees to keep Dominic’s identity a secret in hopes of seeing Sonny brought to justice. On Tuesday, November 24, Lucky’s interrogation of Sonny takes an introspective turn when Sonny contemplates the idea of having a son who is a cop. Sonny inadvertently incriminates himself and Dominic gets it on tape on Wednesday, November 25.

Film star James Franco debuted on the show Friday as the mysterious (and seemingly Jason-obsessed) artist, Franco. Now that we've seen him, don't you think it's Port Charles's turn? Look for Franco's art opening to draw most of the cast together. Franco catches Maxie's eye, and she certainly catches his. Next thing we know, Maxie's back in his studio. Combine Maxie's knack for making poor decisions along with Franco's clearly disturbed behavior and you get ... well, you'll see!

Meanwhile, everybody seems to want to play matchmaker for the holidays. Jax and Carly, still estranged after the events surrounding Michael and Claudia, find themselves getting pushed together for Thanksgiving. The Mysterious Franco Beds One of GH's Finest...

The week begins with Franco's gallery opening. "Franco is fascinated with death, crime scenes and murder," explains Guza. He sees Jason as an expert in all that and wants to compare notes. Jason doesn't reciprocate the admiration. "Franco's obsession will turn deadly."

As the opening is about to get underway, everybody is trying to form an alibi due to an earlier shootout. Lucky notices something strange at the scene of the crime. Dominic notices something familiar in one of Franco's staged crime scene photos. "There is someone in town who nearly put a stop to Franco's criminal activities years ago." Franco wants to get revenge on that person and everyone he/she loves most.

Now they get into the bedding part...

Laura Wright thinks Carly is ripe for the pickin' but notes that she wouldn't do it purposely.

Guza notes that Maxie's young and could enjoy her freedom a little more.

Liz? Sometime freedom with a stranger is more liberating than the drama of being caught between two brothers, notes Guza.

Sam? Her and Jason have a rocky history notes Guza.

Back to the gallery opening. Jason is uneasy as he watches footage of Franco at the gallery opening. He's worried about what Franco knows about Michael's guilt.

Back to sex. While Jason is contemplating, Franco puts the moves on Maxie. "Maxie's decision to sleep with Franco is two-fold." She wants him to do a photo shoot for Crimson and he feeds into her adventurous side (not wanting to be tied down). She'll feel extremely guilty for cheating and will be determined to make things right with Spin.

The meaning behind CO77X will be revealed on 12/11. JFP picked the Franco theme song, her daughter made her listen to it one day while she was driving her to school.

SOD: Casting and Blind Items

His debut as the ruthless Cassadine has been pushed back due to Franco/JF. An insider indicates that GH has been using the delay to beef up MBo's character. There's a "powerful story awaiting his arrival."

Could be 4 of 7 soaps blind item (probably not GH with the Franco high). Morale at a West Coast show has gotten low. The shows supercouple is disillusioned with the recent direction of storylines. So unispired are they that some actors have taken to learning their lines on the day of taping on set. One vet who recently decided to stay with the show regrets the decision.

Chad Brannon returns in December for one epi. Part of the Rebecca storyline.

Performer of the week: Maurice for Claudia's last dinner... "Bernard's eyes bugged outand the veins in his forehead throbbed." They think he handled playing victim and victimizer, at the same time, very well.

CH/It's Only My Opinion: Most of the two pages is about triangles where two sides are related. Siblings/mothers&daughters. She thinks Gh is doing a good job with Liz's triangle and notes that they dropped the ball on Sonny/Ric (over Carly, Alexis) - all they did is wah about who mom loved best. She loved Claudia's last dinner and notes how much the PCPD sucks.

Tom Stacy also loved the Claudia fallout in the Second Opinions section. He notes SB's works, he thought she brought heart to a vile character. He notes Clauds/SB's face as she told Sonny "Our baby's death was a blessing?"

My Take By Becca Thomas. She's not going to set GH up for failure by daring them to go a while without giving a female character a story that involves her uterus, or center stories around central families instead of the Mafia. Or going through a sweeps without killing anybody. She does want to dare them to go a month without having someone call a woman a bitch/prostitute. She's looking at Sonny. She further challenges them to do a slow-burn romance. Dante/Lulu currently are the best contender, but she'd settle for anybody.

Maurice Benard Shifts into a New Gear on 'General Hospital'

MSN TV: Fans didn't want to see Sarah Brown leave again, but couldn't deny Claudia's demise was worth it. What was it like playing that?
Maurice Benard: I love her, man. She's as good as it gets as an actor, so it was tough for me too, but it paid off. You didn't know it was coming and then, bam! If they'd written Sonny liking her more, that's too obvious, but they became like a team. You believed Sonny would think that was cool.

After playing it even keel with Claudia for so long, how did you work yourself up to that major blow up at the end?
It was just well written, man, and Sarah's so good. I let myself go, and the words just came out. The harder part was the calm. I was able to do something I haven't done here -- and I've been here forever -- which was to not show the emotion until I blew up. It was difficult. I didn't want it to look wrong or come off boring. I've been in fifth gear for the last six months. Fifth gear is cool, because the audience never knows what I'm going to do, but you lose some sensitivity if you stay there too long. So, now I'm going back to first gear. You'll see less of the power and more of what's going on inside.

This week, Jason decides to step away from the business for Michael's sake. Is Sonny having an easier time accepting the mob life for Michael?
It's funny because when I did the scene, my feeling was, "You want to stop killing? But it's my kid, not yours!" For me, it would be like watching my son, at 17, going through a breakdown and me realizing, "S**t, he's bipolar." It's sad.
Sonny doesn't want his son to be like him. Not in that dark way. It's very scary, but the scenes you get with him and Michael, Michael explodes, so it's Sonny trying to calm his son down. Sonny needs a sounding board, so he can say how he feels. Dominic would be great for that!

Undercover cop Dominic/Dante has Corinthos blood: Could he slide over to the dark side?
In five years, if I'm gone and Steve Burton is gone, I see Dante as Sonny and Michael as Jason. Dante seems like Lucky, in a way. He's the straight-up cop who wants to do right, but I also feel, watching him and acting with him, that he's feeling for Sonny. Maybe he doesn't want to, but he can't help it. I love that dynamic, and with Olivia too, but the love story, for me, is Dante. I want Sonny to fall in love with him, and then the truth will come out.

How will Sonny react when he hears Kiefer is slapping his daughter Kristina around?
He's going to be in big trouble. I'd take him out if I were Sonny.

As a family man with a house full of kids, do wish you could teach Sonny a lesson?
If I did what he did for a living, I don't know that I could be the father I am. It's tough, because you know he loves his kids, but he's not there for them like he should be and because of the life he leads it's difficult to be a great father. You get too close to your kids, they could end up like Michael.

Are your kids impressed with your day job?
No, and they're not impressed with me, at all. When we go out, sometimes people come up to me. They like that, but anything I do on TV, they don't even like to watch. I joke with them, "Look at what I'm doing. Isn't that good?" "Whatever, Dad." They go through periods where they watch "GH" if they like some guy on the show. They'll tune in for James Franco, and they liked Ethan a lot, but then they're over it.

Are there really 30 pets at your house?
When I get home, I'll probably have another animal there. I have a zorse (zebra/horse) , four horses, three goats when I left, chinchillas, snakes. I caught a rosy boa on my street, because I catch snakes all the time. I bring her home, and she has babies! So of course, now they want to keep the babies. It doesn't end with my farm.

Sonny is one intense dude: How does your energy compare to his?
Sonny is much more in control, until he loses control. Now, I've lost control too and it's scary, but usually, I just go with whatever. I can be loud and goofy. If they do this right with Sonny and Olivia, I can start bringing out Sonny's goofy side. We just did some scenes where they're cooking together at Kelly's, and it's lighter. Because I've done so much dark drama for 16 years here, that's what I'd like to do for awhile. I'm better at it, now that I'm relaxed. When I was younger, I was so "deep."

Who makes you laugh the most at work?
Steve Burton and I get these giggles. It can be bad. He says I have this stupid look in my eyes, so I'll be like, "You've got this stupid look on your lips," because he makes this face. I love Steve, man. Tony Geary is very funny too. We like to work together. It's all about the energy. I get to work with so many different actors these days. It's cool.

James Franco's storyline kicks into gear this week, leading up to his first appearance Friday, Nov. 20. How does Sonny fit into this story?
It's some weird, freaky stuff going on, but I don't do much with him. Jason comes to Sonny every so often and says, "This guy's freaky." So, Sonny says, "Kill him."

What was it like to work with James Franco?
I had one tiny scene with him. It was a couple lines, so there was no meat on the bone, but he's a nice, cool guy and a good actor. It's great to see some guy who's a big movie actor coming on our show. It's fantastic. You always hear how hard soaps are, and he's an actor who wanted to see for himself.

Meanwhile, Carly and Jax are fighting. Could this mean another round of Carly and Sonny?
They're great as exes. When you've been there, done that, it's nice to have something fresh, but she's always going to be in his orbit, obviously. Jason and Carly should actually get together!

Going back to your "five years from now" comment, are you thinking of leaving?
I've wanted to retire for ten years. I can't right now, financially, but maybe by the time I'm 50, I can. I can't believe I'm going to be 50! People say, "You love to act. Don't you have to act?" That's true, but I don't need a lot. If I could act once or twice a month, I'd be happy. Just an audition or two a month, even if I didn't get the job, would be enough.

What's the story on the indie flick you did, "Confession" ?
My character's sister was brutally raped and murdered, and the guy got away with it. Twenty-five years later, I go to my parents' house to find they've killed themselves, so I take the gun they used and go after the guy. It's intense, man. I did the film right after my friend was murdered, so I dedicated my performance to that. I'm going to a screening on Nov. 21. I get nervous at these things, and I've only seen one scene. If it's like that scene, I'm happy. It could be an interesting, artsy film for the festivals.

So what would you like to see for Sonny this holiday season?
I just heard about a scene with Sonny, Olivia and Dante having dinner. That's nice, right? That's going to be interesting. After the Dante/Olivia thing, I'd like it to be well written how it resolves. What happens after that? He can't be with them, can he? I'd like to have a sounding board. Maybe a new chick could come on for six months. I need balance, but we'll see.

SOW:

So Molly, Kristina and Robin try and hook up Mac and Alexis for Thanksgiving?
JY: Pretty much. They noticed to the two of them 'hanging out' at Spinelli and Maxie's wedding reception. We both get invited over to Robin and Patrick's for Thanksgiving dinner and it doesn't take long for us realize that the three of them are trying to play matchmaker.

SOW: How is working with Nancy Lee Grahn(Alexis) ?
JY: It's great! Nancy is terrific and we actually live close to each other, so we see each other quite a bit now. She's full of energy and ideas so it makes working with her fun and spontaneous.

SOW: With Felicia pretty much out of the picture, do you think Alexis and Mac are a good match?
JY: Felicia came back for Georgie's funeral and that's were things kind of left off. After she left again, everyone just basically moved on. Mac has been kind of lonely, with Georgie on her own now and Robin has her own family, so I think Alexis could definitely be someone Mac is interested in. She's strong and independent and Mac tends to like that in a woman. Things are kind of falling into place at similar times, so there could be a future there.

SOW: Robin has her hands full, with a baby, but she's also been showing signs of the Scorpio 'sleuthing' gene.
JY: It's in her blood. She's a great doctor, but that part of Anna and Robert will always be there with her. She's not one to let things go with out getting to the bottom of it first. It doesn't mean she neglects or is going to neglect her child either. She's got a great support team in people like Patrick and Mac. It's always an added bonus when I get to work with the baby. Mac loves being a grandpa.

SOW: What about Claudia's murder? No one, sans Jax, seems to concerned about catching the killer.
JY: Mac doesn't always prove to the best at his job, but he's a good guy and takes his job seriously. I'm not sure why the mobsters are always the good guy?!?

BUSTED: GH RECASTS LUCKY WITH A FAMILIAR FACE

On paper, General Hospital's decision to replace Greg Vaughan in the iconic role of Lucky Spencer after six and a half years, was a no brainer. After all, the show managed to lure back Lucky's original portrayer, Jonathan Jackson, a three time Emmy winner in the role, and a beloved fan favorite.

In reality, the decision has thus far been a mistake. The last time Jackson appeared on GH was ten years ago, when Lucky was still a teenager. In the intervening years, Lucky married and divorced Elizabeth twice, became a stepfather to Elizabeth's two sons, became a cop, battled and overcame an addiction to pain pills, and had steamy affairs with Maxie and Sam. In other words, he's not the same boy he was ten years ago. He's a grown man with grown up responsibilities and problems.

Jackson, who is 27-years-old and a father himself in real life, has been blessed with a preternaturally young face. In show business, it's usually an advantage to look younger than you are. However, in this instance, Jackson's youthful countenance does him a disservice. Unfortunately, Jackson still looks like he's 17-years-old which doesn't work for the character of Lucky.

Lucky now looks like he could be Sam's kid brother instead of the guy she had sex with in her hot tub. Sam, who is played by the sexy Kelly Monaco, could eat this new Lucky for breakfast, and spit him out when she was finished. He's not someone she would think twice about having an affair with, and their scenes together are uncomfortable.

It's also painful to watch Jackson's Lucky try and go toe to toe with mob man Jason, when he looks like he should be playing in the sandbox with Elizabeth's kids instead of throwing his weight around the police department. This Lucky is a minor annoyance to Jason, not a legitimate threat. There's no way these two could have ever been on a level playing field for Elizabeth's heart, which is the same problem GH has with this current incarnation of the Lucky/Elizabeth/ Nikolas love triangle.

In real life, Tyler Christopher, who plays Nikolas, is nine years older than Jackson, and it shows. Elizabeth's choice is between a boy and a man. Though GH can now use flashbacks to illustrate the characters' complicated history because the original actors are all in place, it wasn't a good enough reason to overthrow Vaughan. Vaughan is eight years older than Jackson, and more of an equal competitor to Christopher. Vaughan's Lucky is a man Elizabeth and Sam would want to be with, and not just out of nostalgia or pity. Jackson's Lucky is someone these women would want to baby-sit.

In his original run, Jackson was known for his chemistry with Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth). Together, they created one of the most popular young duos in the show's illustrious history. However, time has marched on without the benefit of them becoming adults together, and it's apparent in their interactions they can't pick up where they left off. They're strangers who have to find their way back to their former glory, and it's going to take time.
GH can't wait too long for Jackson and Herbst to discover their magic and reconnect, because Lucky and Elizabeth have already reunited and are getting married, in spite of her secret affair with Nikolas.

And why does Lucky always get the short end of the stick? If GH really wants to delve into these characters' pasts, then why not bring back Elizabeth's sister, Sarah? She was Lucky's first love, and she chose Nikolas over him. Now history is repeating itself with Elizabeth. With Vaughan in the role, it wasn't believable for Elizabeth to chose the spoiled and temperamental Nikolas over Lucky, but somehow with Jackson in the role, it makes sense.

The only area where Jackson outshines Vaughan are his scenes with Tony Geary, who plays Lucky's father, Luke. They have their father/son dynamic down to a science, almost like they never missed a beat. This would work fine if Lucky was only in scenes with his father, and not expected to be a leading man involved in a hot love triangle. Since GH can't isolate Lucky, they should have kept Vaughan.

Lulu picks up on the tension between Luke and Nikolas.
